"Reporters are never late," *she said pretending to be offended.*
*With a friendly grin, Lois got up and left. A sense of disappointment settled over her. She hadn't gone in there for a lunch date but something about him always made her forget what she was there for. Maybe she was losing her mind.*

**NEW DAY** Bruce had been a bit antsy these days, and when he wasn't out in the city being Batman he was roaming the house looking for something to do. He hadn't been like this for very long, and couldn't really say what the cause of it was. He was as happy as he'd been in a long time--he had Lois and Alfred, the company was doing well, and Batman seemed to be having some kind of impact (though in the back of his mind loomed the still-unresolved situation with Poison Ivy and the Joker). He was wandering through one of the sitting rooms when a tagline on one of the discarded newspapers jumped out at him. "Who is this new lady in the life of billionaire playboy Tony Stark? Another fling, or something more?"Typical. He really wasn't-- And then, when he picked up the paper, he saw the photo to go with it. Jess. Jess, alive, in one piece. Kissing Tony Stark. With a roar, he threw the newspaper away from him and stormed out of the room, heading for the Batcave .
