*Lois nodded.*
"Sure. No problem," *she said confidently before turning to walk out of the room.*
*Before walking through the door, Lois paused and faced him.*
"Oh. And good luck."

"Thanks. You be careful out there."

*Lois remained where she was for a long moment, smiling. She looked grateful and almost flattered, though she didn't know why.*
"I'll try," *she joked.* "But I'm sure You-Know-Who wouldn't mind swooping in and saving my rear again."
*And with that, she turned and left the room.*
((No, not Voldemort. XD))

((Haha))
*He watched her go, secretly smiling. She was right...if Lois Lane wound up in hot water again, Batman would likely come swinging in. His associate Bruce Wayne seemed to be collecting people that needed someone watching out for them...*

*Later that day Lois opened the door and poked her head through.*
"Le Café de Flore. Tomorrow. Eleven in the morning," *she said shortly then left without giving him any more information.*

"Thanks!" He called after her, writing that down. Next to it was the notation " Rachel...Dawes?" Would it be her? He'd find out, soon enough .

****ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER ROOM...KINDA****
*After asking Alfred twice and going through about a dozen winding corridors, Lois finally found Bruce's office. She had gotten a whole lot better at finding her way around the manor but she still considered the fact that she hadn't gotten lost a miracle. With her tortoise shell glasses on her nose and seemingly absorbed in the notepad in her hand, she walked in without knocking and sat down across from his desk.*
"How many 'E's are there in 'breezy'?" *she said, tapping her pen thoughtfully on her notepad. Lois had never been good at spelling.*
*She was quite convincing but she wasn't really there for a spelling lesson.*

*Bruce folded his hands on his desk, eyeing her curiously*
"Two."

*Lois scribbled it down then looked at it thoughtfully.*
"Could've sworn there wasn't another 'E'..."
*Realizing how ridiculous she sounded, Lois looked up and smiled sheepisly.*
"Perry took me off the city beat and put me in lifestyles. So intead of writing about important stuff, I get to report on all the tourist destinations," *she said, rolling her eyes.*

"He did? Why would he do that? You're the star reporter of the Daily Planet." He said, with genuine surprise.

"Something about my being a liability. He knew I was investigating Crane and I think he knows the truth about why I've been out of the office for a while," *she said with a sigh.*
"He told me that with sales down by 15%, he couldn't afford my funeral."
*Lois snorted mirthlessly.*
"Leave it to Perry to chase away the rain clouds."

*Bruce shook his head*
"That sucks. Plain and simple--I've read some of your articles. Perry doesn't know what it has if you're being shifted around like that.
I'd offer an in into the Gotham Times, but that would be a bit a commute from Paris."

*Thankful, Lois grinned. But it only lasted a moment.*
"A long commute with all this Joker BS would drive me nuts," *she said, visibly disturbed at the meer thought of him.* "A simply trip downtown is enough to make me sweat."

"It's not fair that you're stuck thanks to him. Being trapped in a house is bad no matter what the house is...even Wayne Manor."
*The truth was, he'd made no headway when it came to Joker. The man had come out of nowhere and was nigh untraceable. But he would keep digging--there had to be something*

*Lois smiled and shrugged.*
"It's not that bad," *she said sincerely.* "I've got a great room, a butler and even someone to talk to."
"It's just... sometimes--"
*She sighed as she took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes wearily.*
"I don't know. Sometimes I wonder why I get into so much trouble."
