*Kirk nodded.*
"As true a man as ever was born," *he said.* "Yes. He keeps me honest. And you... haven't you anybody to come watch the stars with?"

**ANOTHER DAY**
*The forces of the 'verse worked in stranges ways, and this morning was no different. He hadn't any intention of going to the opera house, yet here he was, on the roof near an angel statue. Not that it made any difference to him at this point--utterly heartbroken, he simply sat down on the roof's edge and let fall silent tears, his face in his hands*

*Aziraphale, always interested in the arts, had come to the opera to see what it had to offer. So far, it had been rather disappointing. With the unsightly gold naked women all over the interior, and the... interesting performances, it left one wanting. Hoping that the decor outside was better, he came up to the roof to take a look around. He was pleasantly surprised by the angel statue- it wasn't accurate, of course, but it was much better looking than the horrors inside.
But what was this? There was someone crying next to the statue. His angelic instinct kicked in, and he approached the man, offering a handkerchief.*
"What's the matter, my dear boy?"
*There was something different about him, though. He couldn't help but think he'd met him at one of those ridiculous cocktail parties heaven was always throwing.*

*der Tod jerked in surprise at the appearance of Az, and was about to duck his head to hide the tears when Az offered the handkerchief. He took the offered item, and wiped away his tears*
"It is all wrong," he began, his voice soft. "She...I don't understand..."
*He heaved a big sigh, trying to get his emotions under control*

"Would you like to talk about it?" *the angel asked sympathetically, sitting down. He understood- he'd had quite a few relationship problems of his own, recently.*

*Tod turned his attention to Az*
"She betrayed me, angel."
*He forced back a sob that tried to surface*
"She...she is an old love, re-born. I thought things could be different..."

*He put a sympathetic hand on der Tod's arm.*
"Humans tend to do things that don't make sense- I know, I've lived amongst them for six thousand years, now."
*He sighed.*
"It doesn't mean she doesn't love you!"

"I know humans...they...I thought I understood."
*He turned to Az, his expression earnest*
"If you love someone, you would never go to another's arms, yes?"

"It happens all the time, I'm afraid," *he said with a sigh.*

*He almost leaned on Az, but didn't know if the angel would allow that or not*
"Humans...they are maddening. They break your heart."
And steal it, and keep it, even when they break it.
*He loved Renn still, he knew. Which also didn't make sense, but what was it he had once been told? That Love defied all logic? That made sense*

*He nodded in agreement. He didn't know from experience, but humans and demons weren't so different, after all.*
"Did she seem to regret it, at least?"

"I...left her weeping."
*He shifted uncomfortably*
"After I yelled at her."

"But before you... yelled at her?"
*Aziraphale frowned, close to giving him a hug. The poor boy certainly needed one.*
