"Love you, too."
He felt a surge of melancholy, and then quickly squashed that down. That would just make everything even harder to fix if allowed to run rampant. Once the elevator doors opened, he very carefully made his way out of them. He hadn't gotten very far when Jarvis suddenly spoke.
"Someone I don't recognize left a package for you. It's being sent up."
Tony frowned.
"I didn't order anything."

(Sorry I've been gone so long proboards has stopped working on my laptop! And it just started working again on my phone ) Jess blinked, packages didn't usually come up to their level. "Well we're is it?"

A special dumbwaiter that had been specially installed not too long ago dinged off in its little corner of the living room.
"That would be it now, Miss Cartwright." Jarvis said.
Tony slowly made his way across the living room toward the dumbwaiter.
"Do you know anything about this, Jarvis?"
"None sir. I did a database search but all I could find was information about the parcel service. There appears to be no return address."
Tony frowned.
"That sounds suspiciously secretive."
((No worries, the internet can be really weird sometimes.))

"Could it be from uh whats her name, Wilde? She's a secret agent type yea?" She watched Tony and kept close in case he needed her "Take it slow yea?"

Tony blinked, then relaxed a bit (though not too much).
"It could. I have no idea what the hell she'd send me, but then that woman is hard to figure out."
He paused a moment to catch his breath before finally reaching the dumbwaiter and pulling out a decent-sized, plain brown box. The label on it was for Fedex, and all it had was his name and appropriate address. No other markings. He hefted it a bit. Pretty light for it's size.
He turned to Jess.
"Just to be sure, let's get this to my lab so I can have it scanned. Can't be too careful."

"Okay, back down the elevator."

Giving her a wry smile, he hobbled toward the elevator, the box tucked under one arm.
"I know it can't be a birthday present, and it's too early for Christmas. It could be some practical joke, but the only people I know who'd do that are you or Pepper."

"I can assure you that my brain is full of much more pressing things than practical jokes" the elevator shot back to the lab "and you know I'm a terrible actor."
She didn't like all this walking up and down, Tony needed to be resting.

"Yeah, and Pepper's too busy these days."
He leaned against the elevator wall, just to be safe, but it was a quick ride and soon they were in his work space. He walked over to the scanner and placed the box under it.
"All right, let's see what this is. Fire it up, Jarvis."
"Scanning," Jarvis said, and Tony stood back to watch the machine work.

Jess took his elbow, she didn't need him collapsing again.

"There's nothing but paper in there." Jarvis finally declared.
"You know, I'm almost disappointed that it wasn't anything more interesting." Tony said, walking over to retrieve the box.

"I'm beyond glad that's all" Jess sighed "this day doesn't need anymore surprises."

Now that there wasn't anything to be tense about, he quickly cut through the tape holding the box closed and opened it. Inside were packing peanuts, and after a moment he dug out a worn and well-used manilla folder.
"What the...?"
As he started flipping through it, though, he quickly realized what it was, and went still.

Jess slowly edged up next to him "Hey Mr. Stark you've gone all stiff" but the silly tone she usually used was wrapped up in seriousness.

They were files, with the name "Vanko" very clearly stamped on them.
"Dammit," he muttered. "I thought he'd gone away."
