The old help topics thread is full of fairly outdated information, so I figured I'd set up a new one!

INSIDE JOKES
An explanation to the titles you may see on your characters... - "masterful virgin" references fanfiction in which the Phantom is amazing in bed, despite having never had sex before in his life. - "in the duggins" was inspired by a rather idiotic attempt by a Suethor to spell "dungeons." That wank can be read right here. - "ingenious pilot" is a reference to "Roule's Ingenious Plane", possibly the best-known Phanwank joke ever. Incidentally, it came from the same wank as the previous phrase. - "Angle of Music" is a joke not limited to Phanwank. Let's face it, we've all seen Erik or Christine turned into a geometric object at least once. - "huge bit of Sue-ness" references my personal favorite Phanwank joke, taken from a Gerry/Emmy fic that was wanked here and here. - "dollhouse of crazy" is, of course, from the amazingly hilarious Phantom of the Opera in 15 Minutes by Cleolinda, lovingly borrowed for one of our themes. - "deceased, please review" comes from this wank.

EDITING YOUR AVATAR
First things first click the Profile button below the banner to bring you to your profile, which should look like this. Next step click the Edit Profile button to take you to the page where you can edit your avatar. To upload your own 250x250px avatar click the Upload/Link button below the avatar portrait titled Uploaded/LinkedHere you can upload a saved avatar (the maximum being 250x250px which is strongly suggested) or link one from the internet. If you aren't interested in making your own, or using an actor or even your own face for the character you're welcome to use proboards avatar creator by clicking Use Default Avatar. You are required to have one so No Avatar (Default Setting) is not acceptable. If you are having trouble coming up with one that's the right size and have no editing software most image uploading sites like photobucket have image editing tools to use. Simply upload the photo to the site and then use follow their prompts for editing. If you don't want to go through the trouble of dealing with one, I am happy to help create avatars for your use. Just message me the photos of the actor you want to use. I make about 5-10 avatars a photo, so be prepared if you send me 20 photos for 100-200 avatars.

EDITING YOUR SIGNATURE/LOCATION/STATUS
To change your personal information including your password, display name, email, gender, location, status and signature you're going to want to find yourself back in this panel. At the top where it says avatar, directly next to it is the Personal tab. Click that and it will bring you to this page. To edit any of these, simply click inside the box and type. Following the prompts for anything on proboards is probably your best bet.
