Peter checked and rechecked his phone, walking up and down the street like it was 1998, looking for a signal.
He managed to attach to someones wifi nearby so he was able to reach out on social media, but neither Aunt May nor Uncle Ben had a facebook so that was a waste of time. He was going to be home late, having decided to head out and do some location shots out on Staten Island (which he never did).
"Come oooon" he held his phone above his head, ready to hit the green call button the moment he got a bar.
It had been one of those days at school. He'd gotten to school early, hoping to drop in to Physics without anyone seeing him, but Flash apparently had no life and decided breaking Peter's skateboard was how he was going to deal with his frustration of the day.
The day didn't get much better after that.
He could count the amount of friends he hand on one hand and even those didn't tend to be a very diverse group of people. However the amount of people he could trust to talk to about anything outside of school was limited to one, maybe two people and they were busy people.
He'd managed to repair his skateboard, that bull of a teenager actually didn't manage to break it completely in half and with a good mix of glues and splints he got it back to working condition during lunch. He couldn't afford a new one so it was gonna have to do.
He'd decided to work on his portfolio and headed out to the only place in the city he didn't haunt and took some pictures to prove to the internet what a weird place New York City was. But he'd managed to get himself a little lost and in the one place in the city without cell reception. It would be quite some time before he'd be able to get home, between buses, the ferry and the subway so he wanted to let Aunt May know.
She kept him on a short leash but he knew she meant well.
"YES" he hit the button the moment the cell signal hit one bar and put it on speaker phone.
