Clark was apparently lucky enough to get early access to the exhibit, even though he wasn't an arts and entertainment reporter.
Perry told him he had to start from the bottom, report on puppies being saved and museum gala's and things that barely impacted Earth. Clark was fine with this, he was fine seeing what little good was left in the world, and never complained.
He stepped in to the temple area and looked around, it was covered in lights and long tables. Although the exhibit was on artifacts based in the 5th and 6th century, they chose the temple as the main area. It would make a hilarious introduction he was sure would be lost on most of the people attending.
He heard clicking heels far behind him and labored breathing. It was the sound of a woman who was in a rush.

Jess had managed to fall asleep at her desk, the coffee that had been so delightfully provided by her assistant Aaron sat full in front of her. When she woke up her phone was buzzing reminding her of an appointment she'd forgotten she'd made with an newspaper in Metropolis.
As she rushed to fix her hair back up, relined her eyeliner and rushed out.
As she came up on the back of the reporter something clicked in her head.
Metropolis... you've got to be-

"Ms. Cartwright?"
Clark turned around with a smile and an outstretched hand.

"Clark Kent."
Really? REALLY? Today of all god damn days the world throws Superman at me?
Pppfffffffhhaaaaaaa
Jess squinted her eyes and took his hand making sure to squeeze as hard as she could even though she knew damn well he couldn't feel it.

He saw the muscles in her hand tense and took note of it "Got quite a grip" he chuckled and feigned pain.

Cute
Somebodies found a new boyfriend! Be careful this one could tear you in two without a super suit!
Jess closed her eyes for a moment and laughed, she was holding her temple pretty much constantly now. Pain seemed to scare her off at least for the moment "Well you have to have a good shake in this business, it scares off the nay sayers. Shall we begin?"

She raised her hand "I'm fine Mr. Kent, stresses of that job and all that. You know this is the most responsibility I've ever had."
She waved for him to follow her. She was used to the press, from Bruce to Tony to this they were an old friend as well as her biggest enemy. Learning what she could say and what she couldn't was one of the hardest lessons she'd ever learned. You don't let too much on, but you don't shut them out either. The more you shut them out, the harder they hone in, the more you let them in the harder they press.
She gave them just enough to write but not enough to gossip.
"I came from modest beginnings you know, all this glitz and glamor is something I'll never get used to."

He flipped out his notebook and began to scribble "Between the ages of 18 and 26 you've been attached to two of the wealthiest men in the world, there is little to no information about what you were doing before then."

"I was a teenager Mr. Kent" Jess laughed "I was going to prom, getting ready for college and hoping to travel the world to bolster a very budding writing career" then I went to Paris, lost hope and tried to off myself, you know typical stuff.

"You could say that" she laughed as they came in to the exhibit "let's just say I lost my way for a little while and thanks to Bruce Wayne I got back on track. But that's all in every unnofficial biography that's apparently been written about me. You're here to do an piece on this" she opened her arms to the giant hall of 5th century artifacts.
And one very empty case.
She smiled "Now you're not an a&e reporter and you don't do biographies Mr. Kent, you and Ms. Lane are the only reporters for the Daily Planet that don't dive in to tabloid journalism. So I have to wonder what you're doing here."

He gave a nervous chuckle and wrote down something in his notebook-
Ms. Cartwright is down to earth. Yet it's obvious that each step is practiced from her voice to her walk. She attempts to create and air of normalcy a personality created as a buffer to the media storm she seems to create with each new venture.
"I'm afraid, and please do not take this as disrespect, but I'm being punished. I apparently have enough clout to cover museum gala's but not enough to cover social justice stories."

"Well this is the biggest one of the year" she almost boasted.
They moved through the exhibit and Jess babbled on about vases and carbon dating and anthropology. She mentioned Professor Jones and the dig in London, the cave that seemed to come from nowhere.

"Seems like science fiction" he nodded as they went by some particularly beautiful plates "and you believe this is all tied in to the sword that was found in Bermuda late last year?"
