*Aimery sat on his small bed, trying to read, but all he could think about was Faye. Was she all right? Would she come see him? Would it be rude to go back to her inn? Would she be mad? Was she already? He had been so forward, surely she was. But she was so nice, she wouldn't hold a grudge, would she? He remembered her face, the sweetness of her smile, the fullness of her lips and her red locks falling about her piercing eyes. He sighed, staring blankly at the page in front of him.*

*struts up to the closed door with a note clutched in her hand*
Aimery,
Sorry I didn't get your flowers before, I was on a cruise in the Caribbean. Just got back this morning. Anyway, your note was nice. We could see each other again sometime, if you give me time to unpack and get used to being home again. My cell number is 555-3482.
Emmy
*taps it ((loudly - hint, hint)) to his door with a tack*
((By the way, 3482 spells out DIVA.))

*Aimery was startled by the sharp noise and rose, walking to the door. He opened it carefully to find her. The one he expected to never see again, the one that was so mad. He blushed fiercely as he looked at her, frozen in nervousness.*

*freezes as well, arms still in the position they were as she was attaching the note to the door, now strangely stretched toward Aimery*
Oh. Hi.

*Aimery smiled nervously and bowed his head to her. He reached in his pocket for his pad, but realized it was on the table next to his bed. He looked up to her, his mouth open slightly, trying to figure out how to tell her. Instead, he opened the door further and stood to the side, gesturing that she might come in.*
Please understand. Just come in and I'll explain.

*understands and strolls in like she owns the place, heading directly to the window*
You don't have much of a view from here.

*As she came in, he turned to grab his pad and pencil, starting to write.*
Of course I don't. Who would give me a nice view? It's not as if I could raise a fuss about it.
*He smiled gently and held the pad for her to read.*
It is good to see you. Have you been well?

*smiles widely, happy to be able to discuss her favorite subject: herself*
I have, actually! I just got back from a cruise in the caribbean, so that was really nice. I went fishing one day and caught this enormous shark! Honestly, it was about eight feet long, and I reeled it in all by myself. I was with a bunch of men and they kept joking that I wouldn't catch anything, but I showed them! Haha! I didn't let any of them help me reel it in, so they couldn't get any of the credit for it.
*is too self-absorbed to realize this line of conversation will lead nowhere*

*Faye was back to being invisible, but still hummed quietly to herself as she went to visit Aimery. She saw his door open and skipped towards it, swinging into the room with a greeting on her lips that died as she noted the young woman by the window, a flush of embarassment flooding through her as she backed out of the room as quickly as she'd entered it, shutting the door behind her as she ran back down the hallway, light footsteps creaking along the corridor.*

*Aimery's brow furrowed slightly as he tried to keep up, but he did his best to keep smiling.*
That sounds very exciting. I have never seen a shark.
*He felt something for a moment, something aching.*
I miss Faye. She's the only one that seems to understand me.
*He didn't realize that the door shut behind him.*

*taps her fingernails on the windowsill*
So...um, I was thinking, you know, maybe we could see each other again sometime.
*tries her darndest to make it sound as if it were her idea and she were giving him some great prize, not that she's taking him up on a three-month old offer that came to her with dead flowers*

You should be more appreicative, Aimery. It's not every day that people are willing to forgive things. Especially the stupid things that you do.
*Aimery smiled warmly and nodded.*
That would be nice. When would you be available?

Anytime, since I have no friends and the opera won't hire me.
*pretends to be thinking through a very packed mental schedule*
Um...how about tomorrow? I think I'm free tomorrow evening.

*Aimery nodded contentedly.*
Would you like me to pick you up at your room or meet in the Foyer?

Would you be ok with picking me up?
*surprises herself by feeling genuinely interested suddenly*
