*Rosette, all grown up and all, sneaked into the room of a woman who was rumored to be a detective of some sort. Luckily the woman was sleeping soundly and Rosette placed the two letters she was holding on her nightstand. A wicked grin made her features look a lot like when she was six. She silently left the room again, now looking adorable and sweet, as her new cover would be.*

*In the far distance a clock rang and Maria yawned as she threw the covers from her, she swung her legs over the side of her bed and immediately could tell that someone was in her room during the night. Her hand flew to her neck, but she could feel no puncture rooms, and apart from the fact that she was still a bit drowsy, she didn't feel like some had sucked on her neck.*
Well this is strange.
*As she lit a couple of candles, she spotted two letters laying on her otherwise empty nightstand. She picked them up and studied them closely, on the first her name was written in a beautiful way, with lots of curls, the other one just said, To anyone. Maria first read the one that was addressed to her and she felt her heart race.*
Dear mademoiselle van Helsing,
I bring you a letter I have found under a pillow in the nursery of this Opera, when I read it a terrible fear captured my hart and for an entire hour I could not speak, nor think of anything else. I am but a humble chorus girl and the things written in the letter were simply too horrible for me. I hope that with your expertises, which I have been told are many and in the line of work that this letter asks for, I decided to give the letter to you. You must think me a coward, not to give you this letter in person, then a coward I am, but I dread the fate of me and my family if I were to get involved. I beg of you, noble lady, please read the letter and help that poor girl, perhaps she is still alive, perhaps not. Still, justice has to be served and I hope that the part I have in this will not a be useless one.
*Maria put the letter on her lap and opened the next one, already fearing the worst, but that letter, written in a child's hand and clearly rushed, broke her faith and her spirit many times, she read the letter over and over again, while a tear rolled down her face.*
Dear reader,
As I am writing this I fear that I am going to be murdered and if you are reading this, I will be dead and my body would have been probably dumped somewhere where no one will find me.
But before I go, I'd like to tell you who it is that will murder me, for they have already proved to be heartless killers and I fear that others may fall prey to their blood lust. Their names are Nadir Khan and Alexander the Great, the murderers of my father and soon, the murderers of me. I wish that whoever reads this notifies the police, so that they may do their job. I fear that my time is running short, I can hear people close by, are they already here? Ooh I feel like I have so much to say before I....No I must be strong.
If whoever reads this could be so kind as to find a young girl called Lily and tell her that she was the best friend I ever had and that I truly loved her. Also if he or she could find my stepmother, Susanna de Changy and inform her of my death, then tell her that I never wished to do her any harm and that I sincerely repent for my wickedness, the wickedness of a six years old who grew up without a mother and with a father who was never around. God will forgive me, I know that, I just hope that the people on this earth will forgive me too. Another girl who was very kind to me was Irene, please tell her that I am sorry for the time that we kidnapped her. Also, I was told that when I first was born a beautiful blond woman helped me come into this world, I never found out who she was, but if you could thank her for me, also thank a brown haired girl named River, for taking care of me in my first weeks. But there are so many more who helped my in my short life, Belladonne, Arielle, Darren, Mary Poppins, I will never be able to repay them.
People are pounding on the door, they are here! I'll hide this note under my pillow in the hopes that it will be found. What can I say, it is out of my hands. The only thing I wish to tell you all is this, even though my actions may have spoken otherwise, you loved you, every single one of you. It's a character trade I inherited from my father, I guess. My father...I will meet him now, along with my mother. Don't be sad for me, I am going to a better place.
Goodbye
Rosette Daaé-de Changy.
*Maria finally lay down the letter and stood up from the bed.*
"This can't be, is this true, or a lie. I remember hearing that Raoul de Changy was killed, this must have been the girls father, but was he murdered? And what has happened to this kid, is she dead too?"
*Maria muttered some Dutch cruses and put a hand on her forehead.*
"The chorus girl is right, I have to investigate this, although I normally only do supernatural cases, I can't let this one pass. Oh Father in Heaven, help me."
*Maria quickly changed her clothes and put both the letters in her pocket. Just before she left she put a knife in her boots and a gun in her purse.*

((You're up for that fight you promised? I need some action in Maria's life.))
*Maria closed the door behind her and sighed. A whole day of investigating and nothing much had come up mainly because Nadir and Alexander haven't paid any attention to my topics *glare*. Apparently there was a girl called Rosette that had lived in the Opera, she was the bastard child of the dead patron Raoul, who may or may not have been revived. But there are no stories about her death, it seemed that the girl just stopped to exist.*
"Mijn God, what a mess I've landed in."
*Maria sighed and walked over to the bed, on which lay another envelope. Maria stared at it and then cursed.*
"I need to get new locks."
*She opened it and read the small note which it contained.*
For more information about the de Changy child, meet me at dawn in herb garden.
*Maria paced up and down the room until she saw that the sun went under. Lost in her thoughts, Maria ran out of the room, to meet the stranger who had left her a note.*

*looks surprised* "Ya know, an attitude-change might be something for you!" *storms off and starts to feel guilty bout being so nasty to the poor woman. Probably, she just found out she was pregnant, or dying of (not so dramatic) she just had a cold*

*Maria shrugged and ran to the herb garden to meet her mystery informant, whilst trying to remember why the woman had seemed so familiar.*

*Maria walked past Mac and threw her jacket on a chair.*
"Father would be proud."
*She said sarcastically before sitting down and rubbing her arm that hadn't quit healed from being dislocated and was now more sore because of the fight.*

*Mac once assessing that she was not really injured moved over and sat on her bed.*
You don't have to do this to yourself you know.

*Maria shrugged and stared briefly at Mac before looking away.*
"This is the only life I know. I am not the kind of girl that goes around wearing fancy dresses to fancy parties."

*Mac shook his head and shifted slightly.*
I wouldn't expect you to be but there is a difference between not and getting killed.
*He turned his head away.*
I couldn't bear it if you were...

*Maria frowned and shook her head.*
Does he mean? ........ I am imagining things, maybe I got hit on the head to hard.
*Maria stood up and gestured to the small liquor cabinet that stood in the corner of her room SWEET MINI BAR!!!*
"Would you like something to drink."
*She asked, her voice shaking with emotion.*
