She listened for a moment, and when she realized that she recognized it, she started laughing and singing along.

He sang along with her, dancing around a bit and tapping his foot.

"This is what I know," she said breathlessly, still dancing around.
"This music!"

As he finished the song, he lifted his bow in to the air triumphantly and then began to laugh.
Everything was going so well.
His sister, his little sister was here and everything was going to be just fine.

Lucy was still grinning as she stopped dancing.
"S'always a good time."

He smiled, a little tear in the corner of his eye.

She tilted her head to one side.
"What's the matter?"

He wiped it away "I haven't been this happy in a long time" he chuckled "it's been so hard, my search for you, it's taken me to places I never wished to have to go. But now it's over and we can be a family again."

"Ohhhh." She said.
Her own experience had been a lot different--since she didn't really remember anything, she'd assumed they were either all dead or had given her up. She hadn't been especially upset by that last one, as in her mind she hadn't needed to know they existed for her to be happy. Still, Lucy had always wondered what a family was like, not recalling any of hers.
"Well, I hope so. If they don't like my business, though, they can go to hell. I ain't changing."

"I figure they'll get over it, they got over Carrie's feminist rants and coming out, they'll be just fine."

She tilted her head to one side.
"Coming out? What's that mean?"

"Oh Carrie's a lesbian" he smiled "we always kind of knew, but it never seemed a problem. I mean it took father a bit to get over the fact that he wont be getting any grandchildren from her side" he laughed "but we love her all the same."

Lucy scratched her head.
"All right. I knew some girls who were. But I don't get 'coming out'. Was she stuck in the house?"
She wasn't being deliberately obtuse. It's just that most of the slang she knew was the crass stuff from the streets.

"It's slang, the term is 'coming out of the closet' I'm not very sure where it came from, I imagine it has to do with hiding, and where is the best place to hide something? The closet" he smiled.

Lucy shrugged.
"I guess. You could hide stuff in the attic."
She started giggling.
"Maybe that's why you don't say 'attic'. It's old and dusty up there."
