"Why can't she come back now?"
He knew this was all crazy talk, he knew that it was Sarah sitting right in front of him, just not... his Sarah.

"There's something that needs be done. She is being prepared for when that is called for. Until, then I stand in her place, and figure out the properties of the sword, so she will be ready when it happens."
Her gaze grew suddenly distant.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son."

"Jaberwock?" He stared at her, with eyes that were cold, confused and glassed over "What in gods name?"

"It's..."
She paused as she searched for a word that was as close as possible to the truth and also make it clear how dangerous it was.
"...a dragon."

"Are you fucking kidding me?"
He'd seen a lot of things being with Sarah, magic beyond his wildest dreams... but a dragon? That was going too far.

"Well I never." She said, sounding and looking rather shocked. She shook it off, though, and continued on.
"It's not a dragon exactly, but that's the closest word you have to what it is. Jabberwocks don't breathe fire."
There was a beat of silence.
"At least, they usually don't."

The word had come to his lips easily, but not because I wanted it to, but because he was still quite intoxicated.
"And what, it's coming here?"

Her expression turned somber.
"I'm afraid so. And only the vorpal sword in the hands of the one meant for it can kill it."

"Oh great, and Sarah is the only one that can stop it. Where is she then? Where did you put her?"
Jay you are speaking to a woman who's lost her mind, Sarah is right in front of you, she hasn't gone anywhere.
But he couldn't hear himself think.

"She's in training. I'm here as I...somewhat...fill the place she vacates. Oooo, she's in my place now! I hope they show her the best of hospitalities, or they better. She looks like/is a Queen, after all.
Oh, she's in Wonderland, if you were wondering."
She smiled.
"Wondering about Wonderland...ah!"

"Wonder... land?"
Oh lord.
"As in, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland?"

She tilted her head to one side.
"Well, yes, there was an Alice who had adventures there, but we haven't seen her in some time now. I suppose she's having more adventures elsewhere."

"I need another drink" he stood up slowly and headed to the mini bar.

"That will hurt your head." She said.
"I have remedies for that. But you shouldn't drink more simply because I do."

"Yes, but at the moment, I'd rather my head hurt, than have to fully understand exactly what you're saying."
