Madison had found a bordello.
Not only a bordello.
But thebordello.
"The Moulin Rogue" she stared down at the dance floor from her private box and smiled.
She'd been bored and after another night of drinking, she'd decided she wanted to do something more seedy, something she might regret.
Billy had been thinking too much lately since that Matthew Harris saved her from that bar. He was too nice, too sweet to even be real. He wasn't a man, he was a mouse.
A good looking mouse
"UGH!" Falling back in to her booth she screamed out for more drinks.

The lights suddenly dimmed, and Lucy, resplendant in a red depression-era gown (though she didn't really know what that meant, being from the late 19th century), slowly rose up through the floor of the central stage. "And now, presenting our star, Lucy Harris!" Called out Zidler from his place as the MC. The band switched gears on the music, playing slower and with more of a base beat as Lucy began to sing: When the only sound in the empty street, Is the heavy tread of the heavy feet That belongs to a lonesome cop I open shop.
When the moon so long has been gazing down On the wayward ways of this wayward town. That her smile becomes a smirk, I go to work.
Love for sale, Appetizing young love for sale. Love that's fresh and still unspoiled, Love that's only slightly soiled, Love for sale.
Who will buy? Who would like to sample my supply? Who's prepared to pay the price, For a trip to paradise? Love for sale
Let the poets pipe of love in their childish way, I know every type of love Better far than they.
If you want the thrill of love, I've been through the mill of love; Old love, new love Every love but true love
Love for sale. Appetising young love for sale. If you want to buy my wares. Follow me and climb the stairs Love for sale. Love for sale.
Love for sale. Her voice was low, sultry, and oddly suited to the style of Cole Porter's music. As she sang, she slowly walked across the stage, here and there leaning down and acting as though singing to a patron here or there.

"No fucking way."
Billy stared like a deer caught in the headlights.
Matthew had been talking about a sister, a sister named.
"Lucy."
And she'd come here not to think about him.

Lucy bowed to the applause that followed, blowing kisses here and there to the audience.
"Nowww, let's see who won tonight," she purred, and her words were followed by catcalls as she produced a folded piece of paper and opened it up to read off a name.
"Misterrrrr...Bordeaux!"
As the crowd called out more catcalls, a rather red-faced younger patron was pushed/led onto stage to stand with Lucy, who shameless threw her arms around his waist.
"Dahhrling, I've been waiting for you!"

Leaning foreward in her booth Billy felt herself tipping over.
"Oh!" Catching herself at the last moment she stood up and went to the railing, staring like a cat about to catch it's prey.

Finally, the fact that a sultry brunette was leaning on him managed to leak into his brain, and the patron, with a stupid grin, grabbed Lucy and gave her a steamy kiss.
When the kiss ended, Lucy leaned back, laughing, and winked at everyone around her.
"Guess he wasn't shy after all!"
With that, she led him off the stage, holding his hand as they disappeared into the crowd. Once Lucy had vacated, Zidler in his distinctive red and black suit hopped up and called out the Can Can Dancers, who seemed to appear out of nowhere to dance, tease, cajole and tempt.

Jumping up, Billy ran toward the stairs, kicking her heels off.
She had to get to the woman before she disappeared.
Calling out "Lucy!" She hit a wall of a man who stood between her and the back rooms "I need to get back there! Get out of the way!"

Chocolat eyed the girl a moment, shaking his head.
"Backstage is for dancers and Zidler only."
Behind him, in the background, could be seen Lucy and the patron, the two of them stumbling around as the patron was a bit tipsy and his grip on the woman made it hard for her to move far. She was laughing, though, and it wasn't feigned.

Billy growled and tried to push past him "I NEED TO TALK TO LUCY! I KNOW HER BROTHER!" She screamed hoping to get the performers attention.

Chocolat frowned as the girl persisted, and he started to say something when Lucy appeared next to him.
"What did you say? My brother?"
Her expression was nothing short of shock. She hadn't thought of, or heard from, the family she'd once belonged to in a very long time.

"Yes!" She smiled "Yes Matthew, he- he's been looking for you, he's here in Paris."

Lucy gaped at her a moment. Then, glancing back at Chocolat and the younger patron, she suddenly grabbed Madison's hand.
"Let's talk somewhere else."
Turning to the guard, she said, "Just lead him to the elephant. I'll be right there."
She tugged on Madison's hand.
"C'mon, quick, before Zidler sees what I'm doing."

It wasn't something she wasn't used to.
Being dragged to a hidden spot, to talk about or do something odd.

Lucy waited until they were quite a ways backstage, out of earshot of other dancers and performers, before she finally turned to Madison.
"How do you know my brother?"

Taking a deep breath she smiled a little nervously "He saved me" she replied, although a little reluctantly, it wasn't something she was ready to admit. "I was at a bar doing something a girl my age shouldn't, and he saved me from having what was to be... a very bad night."
