Aurelia had been waiting for this all day: her first practice with the orchestra of the Opera Populaire. She was hoping she could make some friends there, and that no one would be intimidated by her unmistakable beauty and unearthly talent as a flautist...

((Rollin' old school 'Verse y'all! XD))
A few minutes later, a young, dapper gentleman walked in quietly. He took off his hat and sat down towards the back. He didn't want to disturb anyone but he had heard about the new talent that the maestro had brought over from America of all places. This, of course, piqued his interest.
He scanned the orchestra and wondered who the golden girl was that the maestro had been raving about the last time they had lunch.

((dapper? Nice adjective XD)) Aurelia looked out over the seats and saw a gentleman in the audience. She wasn't nervous of course, only curious as to why the man would choose to come listen to a practice. She took her seat as the other performers filed in. She listened as the conductor introduced her and asked her to play a short piece to show the others her style of music. And she smiled as she began to play, filling the room with a hauntingly beautiful melody.

((Why thank you! I don't think there's any other adjective that so perfectly suits him. )) So that was her. He intently listened to her introductory piece and understood why the maestro thought it imperative to bring this girl over from the States. She had a wonderful clarity of tone and a flawless, effortless technique-- something quite remarkable for someone her age, he thought. While she was playing, the conductor had turned and spotted him. And when she had finished and the well-deserved round of applause eventually simmered down, he turned to the orchestra. "Orchestra," he said, gesturing to Nick. "Please allow me to introduce our latest patron of the arts and good friend of mine, and the reason why you're all sitting nice and comfortably in cushy new hand-crafted chairs-- all the way from America-- Monsieur Nick Halden!" Members of the orchestra laughed and clapped again and Nick decided that just sitting and waving wouldn't do. He got up and approached the orchestra. "Thank you everyone," he bowed and said warmly. "And the chairs... I do apologize. I did try to think about something a bit less fundamental when thinking of gifts but that was the only thing that came to mind. But in any case! I'm very much looking forward to all your performances this season. I know Jean-Yves really likes to get down to the nitty-gritty during rehearsals but he speaks very highly of you." "Oh and I don't believe you've met our newest soloist and your compatriot, Miss Aurelia Morgan." Nick grinned most handsomely, took a few steps forward and extended his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Morgan," he said smoothly.

((I love cool adjectives. I have fun describing Aurelia in the best badphic style I can )) Aurelia looked the gentleman over. He seemed quite nice, and the chairs had been extremely comfortable, and unlike most comfortable chairs they made it easy to keep correct posture. "It's nice to meet you as well Mr. Halden. I must say I didn't expect to be meeting anyone from the States quite so soon, it's a pleasant surprise. And thank you for the chairs by the way, I'm sure I speak for the whole orchestra when I say that they are some of the finest chairs I've played in." She shook his hand and smiled.

"I'm glad my unimaginative gift could help," he said charmingly. "How long has it been since you left America?"

"Only a few months. I must say it's been a big change coming here. You're the first that I've met with whom I've actually been able to speak English!" She laughed.

"I'm glad I can be a reminder of home," he said with a laugh. "Have you been formally introduced to the fair city of Paris?"

"No I have not. I came straight to the opera house to get settled in. I take it you're offering to show me around?" She smiled at him.

"Only if you want a fellow American's spin on Paris," he quipped smartly. "Just let me know. I'd be more than happy to show our new virtuoso around town."
