"Are you really so thick-headed that you can't see that we both have no bloody idea what you're talking about?" Raziel snapped.
Sure, it was a bad idea to antagonize Dracula, especially considering the state that Raziel was currently in, but the archangel's patience in this matter had completely worn down with the fight in the room.

*Dracula bristled, pausing mid-step and glancing back to the open door with a sharp glare. The angel could rile him like no one else. But it would not serve his devices to let anger get the best of him. Rage was only a flash in the pan. Revenge, now that was eternal. Fist tightening, he stilled himself and calmed. Then he turned back to Brandi.*
"I am not the one that made you forget." *He spat, loudly enough to answer Gabriel.* "It's by your own misdeeds that you've been doomed to repeat them."
*He lunged at the girl, but instead of attacking, he reached to her shackles and started unlocking them.*

*Brandi was worried as Dracula reacted to Raziel's comment. She understood the angel's perspective, of course. This hardly seemed a fair situation, since neither of them understood the source of his ire. She startled as he came at her (obviously there were some valid concerns for one's safety when Dracula was involved), but as he took her by the wrist it slowly dawned on her what he was doing.
She calmed herself, forcing herself to be a still as she could, no matter how afraid she was. This might be just the thing they'd been waiting for. And if Raziel could be seen as the threat, maybe she'd appear less of one. She just had to comply... It would be worth it in the long run. Her gaze fixed on the floor, as she worried he could read her expression and divine her intentions if their eyes met.*

*Dracula may have been unprepared to host both of them so soon, but that did not make him stupid. The moment the cuffs fell away, his hand was on her throat, nails digging into her flesh and straining her breath. She squirmed helplessly, eyes wide in surprise and fear.*
"If you try to escape. I will kill you. Make no mistake." *He whispered privately through clenched teeth. He held her there for a long moment, drinking the sight in as her face swelled a little at his tight grip. Her eyes rolled up in desperation, her hands already instinctively on his, as if she could do anything to lessen the situation. She offered a small, forced nod of acceptance, but he didn't release her. Not just yet. The hint of a cruel smile lingered in the corner of his mouth.*

"You--"
Another memory surfaced, cutting him off. This one was a strong one, almost a vision rather than a memory--the three of them in a different time and place (that strangely familiar castle, though it wasn't the one they were currently in), the dark-haired Brandi...
They were arguing, all three of them, though he couldn't quite make out what about--there was again a language barrier. But of the three of them, Dracula seemed to be the most upset...or maybe royally pissed would be a better description. Raziel, a mortal in this incarnation, then lunged at the vampire was thrown with great force against a stone wall. In the memory, as he blacked out, he could hear the screams of--
"--Elisabetta!" He cried, breaking out of the memory vision, straining at the chains that held him, here in the present. He could even feel tears sting his eyes as he settled back against the wall, wonderingly.

((<3))
*Brandi shared no vision, but the word on Raziel's lips cut through her. Her eyes widened, locking on Dracula's without any hesitation. No. No no no. It couldn't be; not her, not with him. But still there was a perfect clarity in it for that moment. Her gaze sought the vampire's, desperate for some sense of understanding. She needed to know the truth. Why was she always the last to know?*

*Dracula flinched at the sound of the name as the angel spoke. Jaw and grip tightening, the girl in his grasp met his cold eyes, but for once it was not in fear. There was the strangest moment, the two of them locked together in... He shook it off, lips drawing tight. Not here, not like this.
In a supernaturally graceful motion, he hoisted her up over his shoulder and was out of the cell.*
"She is mine." *He snarled at the other cell, pausing only long enough to breathe the words before he slid down the hall effortlessly. Brandi seemed rather complacent, still dazed. Or something. There was the faint sound of a latch being locked at the far end of the hall and then only silence.*

"No! What--"
But they were gone, just as fast as the memory surfaced.
The name he had uttered...could that really be it? Although it somewhat answered how they could know each other, it still didn't explain what had started it all: why Dracula thought Brandi was "his", what had happened in the past to start all of this in motion.
Raziel slumped, worn out by not just the fighting and his injuries but also by all of these strange revelations and vague facts.
