So, I've been barbiesmashing my Lorien characters, and it's looking like this. Lovett wants Eva to marry Elric so that there will be an alliance between Lorien and the Chaos Gods. If this goes down, our family will officially be doing business with demons. Any thoughts on the matter? Any enemies to send them after? ANy ways for Steerpike to get involved?

Right now, I've been having Elric and Eva meet, him being all "I'M DARK AND FRIGHTENING AND TORMENTED!" and her being all "Yeah, you kinda are."
I suppose we need a person or nation for Steerpike to be plotting against. Maybe there are still some Elf loyalists in Lorien?

Man, I missed that whole plot so much, if only because of the fact that like, everybody involved was such a bastard. The Watchmen thing hits the moral ambiguity the other way- it's full of bastards with valid points, but the Lorien thing is just... bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling.
Since we didn't get to establish the Meg/Eva friendship much, I'll have Meg write Eva a letter. It also might be possible for Lorien to want to align with the still-extant Habsburg empire too...

Great! Eva needs friends pretty badly right now.
Tell me about the Empire, then, since I was never involved in any of its plot.

Well, I'm only tangentially involved in it, but basically it seems that in this universe the empire was blessed by a stable, non-suicidal Prince Rudolf who never had an affair with Mary Vetsera and instead ended up respectably married and inheriting the throne after Franz Joseph passed away. The tangential involvement comes from the fact that Meg is Rudolf's wife's sister.

Yep, that's how I wrapped up Rudy and Becca's plot when Emily left--I didn't want to leave it hanging and I figured that this version of Rudolf would probably do good in a position of power (well, and his wife, too).

I figured we'd have to ask you first anyway. :3

Oh, yeah, I don't mind, it IS true, after all. Though it's good not to look too closely at the family ties as that tree gets really wacked-out as you go (some of Rudolf's kids are his only through marriage--the de Chagny twins [who I play] are from Becca's previous relationship with Philippe)...so yeah, the Hapsburgs are mixed up with the de Chagny and the Blakeneys and...head spinny goodness. ...huh. Meg, that means I've got your nephew and neice in play. Dunno if that'll help your plot idea any (and if need be, I can bring Rudolf back...I certainly wouldn't object to playing as him , even if it's only in cameos). Wow, I talk a lot. Edit: Here's the post that wraps up the Hapsburgs.

Meg was gonna find out about the plot bubble/inexplicably becoming the bb of the family eventually.

Okay, no prob. It's funny, Meg's got relatives in a lot of the big noble families. All you're missing is like a Pontmercy or something. XD

And I almost forgot- given that my Lovett is the daughter of The Old Lady from Candide, someone reasoned a while back that she's probably a lost Krolock.

Oh man, that. Oh my.
Well, I've kind of retired Herbert, but his father and the count's lovely new bride are still about.

I suppose the problem is that Hapsburg and the Krolocks are reasonably non-evil. Any trouble between them and Lorien would be started by Lovepike screwing them over. Which I suppose isn't unreasonable.
I guess if we want Evil v. Evil, I could bring back my Dracula (so many Draculas!) and have some sort of Uberwald v. Elfland espionage.

Awww, yeah. I wish I had something to add--not because I want to butt in or anything, but, I dunno...I've always liked the Steerpike/Lovett thing.
Hell, I want to make an elf or something just so you don't have to barbiesmash too much, Mira.
