*Erik smiled fondly at the carnage below. He had to admit--her sudden and completely arbitrary vengeance amused him.*
"Turandot. But they have put that upstart fop Xavier in Christian's role. Do not worry, Erik has seen to the managers. But if they require an additional nudge, Erik trusts you will assist him."

"Ah, the managers. Erika might find it amusing to bother them, particularly as she is used to them being female."

"Female managers," *Erik mused.* "The thought boggles the mind. One would assume they couldn't be any more incompetent, but considering they are women..."
*He looked at his twin again.*
"You are an interesting creature," *he said finally.* "Erik finds you repulsive, yet fascinating."
*Which, oddly, was how he felt about himself.*

*Erika laughed dryly*
"She was thinking the same about you, truth be told."
*Her smile stayed in place*
"Would it interest you to know that all are of the opposite sex in my world? SIGNOR Giudicelli, Signora Piangi?"

"Are they still fat cows with more lung capacity than training?" *Erik said, laughing. But he quickly sobered. Oddly, he found himself attributing his past to her, as must be so. But it was unusual for him to voluntarily assume empathy for others.*
"Erik cannot believe that you were... that the world would do to a woman as they did to him."

"Urgh, yes. Especially that insufferable Giudicelli creature."
*She guffawed at his last question*
"Don't be ridiculous. Being female makes it worse, in some ways. Everyone assumes a woman should always be beautiful, do they not? So, when one finds something hideous beyond description, it of course must be treated as though it were a demon from hell."

*Erik's jaw twitched as he recalled the fortitude it had required to get him through the tortures of his youth. A woman could not withstand such.*
"But to cage you... exhibit you... a woman. It is unthinkable."

"Such as would harm me for being ugly care little about the morality of things. And why would it be less for Erika? Being female has nothing to do with it. It is the face, always the face. The face makes them think you as nothing more than a thing."
*She slowly inhaled and exhaled, feeling old fires starting to burn again over her childhood. None of that, now*

*He nodded in understanding, even as the fires of outrage flared with him. For her, now. For it was no different than himself.
This was getting confusing.*
"Yes," *he agreed.* "But no more."

"Oh, yes indeed. Erika is delighted with the possibilities that two Phantoms could bring."

"And Julian," *Erik pointed out.* "But you do not know my son."

"Actually, Erika does. She met him up on the roof after our first encounter."

*Erik blinked, taking in that information.*
"You did," *he repeated. Then smiled.* "Isn't he a credit to Erik?"

"He is interesting, to say the least. He confused Erika, which is quite admirable as that is not an easy thing to accomplish."

*Erik smiled gleefully.*
"Yes. He is... Erik's greatest triumph, he thinks."
