"Luckily I was strong when I was younger" he smiled "I grabbed on to her and the window and pulled back, I can't say I didn't enjoy the attention though. It was an odd experience."

He smiled.
"Hey, balancing acts can be fun." He said knowingly.
"So long as you don't fall over."

"Isn't it just ridiculous?" He laughed.

John made a face and lifted up his shirt and pointed to a long scar on his stomach "And painful."

He winced.
"Owww...okay, I wouldn't have thought dangerous, but I guess I should."

John sat back down "Well, there was a large piece of metal sticking out at the wall, and uh, the position was awkward and well, it's just another tale to tell."

"Doesn't sound like it's safe even for normal traffic.
I don't know why, but it reminds me of when I fell into the river--Dracheheim has a river that cuts through it, see, and some parts of the city you can only reach by bridge. Well, I once fell off one of those bridges."

John made a face "Was it a torrential river or just one of those slow moving ones?"

"Ehhh...sort of quick. It's not really bad until the rainy season, and then it actually has rapids and the level rises--Dracheheim has a tendency to flood during that part of the year. It wasn't like that when I fell in, thank goodness. I'm not a bad swimmer but I wouldn't dare that river during flood season."

John nodded "I can only imagine."

"It's nice in the winter, though," he said, reminiscing.
"When it freezes over it's this pretty pale blue. It's the only time the city isn't all black and gray--when it snows. Then it looks like one of those scenic pictures people are always painting."
A bit of homesickness had crept into his voice--a feeling that surprised him. He'd never really thought that he'd miss Dracheheim were he to leave it, considering it a miserable place as he did. Maybe it hadn't been all bad.

John nodded "Sounds like London" he laughed, tipping his cup to his lips, taking a small sip "would like to take Hazel there one of these days, Marie lived there when she was little, thus the accent."
John missed London more then he could ever imagine, his home was Paris now and had been for the last 13 years. It was of course that long since he'd seen what was left of his family, his father had passed away 10 years ago, but from what he could tell, his mother was still quite alive.
"Do you ever miss it?"
