*Giry watched the rehearsal with a grim face.*

*Sorelli knew she was late--and recalled a few lectures of the past from Giry about such--but she was so happy to be invited back, and to see her ballet mistress and possibly her other friends that she didn't care if she got the lecture again. She'd welcome it, in fact.
Once backstage, she changed as fast as she could without making a mess of herself. Lordy, but it felt like it had been ages since she'd worn this. Not that she hadn't practised--she had--but wearing the actual clothes...it brought back memories.
All smiles, she entered the area.*
"Madame Giry, I am sorry I'm late, but I am here for practice."

"Then to the stage, my girl!" *said Giry in the imperious tone she used while conducting rehearsals.* "Josephine," *she said to a girl in the front row.* "Fall back." *The girl moved to the second line of staggered dancers and Giry pointed to the space with her cane.* "There."

*Still grinning, she moved to the spot indicated by Giry. It felt good to be back*

"See if you can pick up the steps of the routine this time around, and then we will run the piece again. You HAVE warmed up, have you not?"

"Yes, ma'am, I have."
*Her face set as she settled down to business*
((I am being vague, because I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to ballet))

((Me neither. Hello, Wikipedia!))
"Good." *Pounding the time on the stage with her heavy cane, Giry let the rehearsal continue.*

*Philippe entered silently and took a seat at the back.*
"So, you have returned."

*Sorelli let herself become lost in the dance, in the music. She missed this. Oh, she'd practiced at her home and all, but it wasn't the same. There was something about being at the opera house, with Madame Giry and the other dancers, that made it feel lacking when she danced alone.
She was so into the rehearsal that she did not notice the man that entered the auditorium.*

*Philippe leaned back in his seat so that his face was obsured by the darkness. He gazed between the dancer and the ballet mistress, returning finally to settle on the dancer.*

*Madame Giry was vaguely aware that someone had entered the auditorium, but she paid it no immediate heed as she was absorbed in her work. As the rehearsal drew to a close, she glanced out into the darkness, barely able to make out the shape of a man sitting near the back, covered in shadows. She had to suppress a start--whether she feared it could be Gerard or Percy she could hardly tell, but both filled her with terror and dread, though the motives were so different.*
"Thank you, girls, that will be all for today."
*Gathering her things, she quickly exited through the warren of tight passages backstage, constantly looking over her shoulder. She would not breathe easily until she was safe in her little flat once more--with all the doors and windows locked and candles lit in every dark corner.*
((*stops ripping off 19th century I Am Legend-ish plot.*))

*Dabbing at the sweat on her forehead, Sorelli wandered into one of the dressing rooms, wondering at the look on Giry's face when she called for a halt. She had been gone so long, however, that Sorelli felt loathe to start asking questions and perhaps accidentally bringing up something touchy. Once she'd changed out of her practice ballet clothes, Sorelli happily made her way back to the foyer. Practice always put her in a good mood, and being back at the opera only made her happier. *

((ORLY? I thought you were watching La Sorelli. Anyway. I'll send Giry back to her rented flat if you're looking to confront her.))
