It had been a very long time, and a lonely one, since Miles had last seen László, and things hadn't been very good. He had been drinking rather heavily, for one thing, which was not very much like him - usually Miles drank to have a good time, not because he felt terrible - nor was it very much fun. But after a while - and the second warning notice from the tailor's about that suit he'd ordered for László being finished - he began to, rather pathetically, rather feverishly miss him enough to start looking up homeless shelters - he'd mentioned living in one - to try and find László.
After a few dead ends, a rather peaky-looking but nonetheless handsome - in a vaguely fey manner - young man showed up at John's Home for the Homeless to inquire after someone he did not know had just been arrested, wearing poorly-tucked in but fashionably cut clothing and a pair of sunglasses, and fiddling with a bottle of liquor in his pocket.

Marie had been washing the floors in the front hall when she saw the man come up to the door. He looked well enough together, but a little sad. Standing up she opened the door for him "Can I 'elp you sir?"
