He hadn't been expecting this to come as soon as it had--László figured that he'd be stuck here for much longer than this. The guard's attitude and treatment of him earned a glare, which was of course ignored.
It wasn't until he saw Miles waiting there that he was surprised. For a moment, he actually couldn't think of anything to say, and that heavy feeling in his chest that he'd had when he'd last left Miles returned.
"Miles...it's you...I mean, of course it is...hello, again." His tone was an uncharacteristically shy one.

Miles had had his back to the direction László was coming from, being awkward about seeing him again and not wanting to look like he was waiting for him, even if, technically, he was. It was only when he heard László's voice and startled and turned, looking uncharacteristically pale and serious and thin in an odd way, that it occurred to him that this might have been a bad idea: being caught off guard, back turned, left him even more unprepared.
He fiddled with his fingers anxiously, not missing László's tone of voice, but certainly misinterpreting it. "László dear," he said uncomfortably, his own tone of voice softer than usual.
((Shy László is cute. Also, be amused: I almost typed that as "Shyló."))

((^___^))
He spared only a brief glance back at the guard, who was already halfway out of the room, then glanced back at Miles.
"Did you...you got me out?"
The shyness was starting to melt, by degrees, but it was slow-going. He wasn't sure how Miles felt, about him, or what had last happened between them, and so he didn't know how to approach him, resisting the initial impulse to grab Miles in a hug.

There was a pause and then a nod, Miles growing slightly stiff as he often did when he was being defensive or pompous, although under the circumstances it was more easily seen through into a kind of vulnerability.
"Well, I rather think that's obvious," he said petulantly, fiddling with a watch to check the time, trying to look fussy to disguise the fact that he was shaking.

It wasn't so much that someone had bailed him out that left him feeling overwhelmed--it was more that it came from quarter that he hadn't expected, and one that he thought had been closed to him.
Miles' stiffness could come from so many different things, but at that moment, all László could focus on was the fact that Miles had shown up again, of his own accord, and had waited for him to be escorted out.
In response to all of this, he followed his original impulse and threw his arms around Miles in a squeezing hug, part of it from gratitude but mostly because László had missed him enormously.

Miles stiffened even further at László's embrace, but kind of fell out of it almost immediately. For whatever reason, maybe just the bailing, László hadn't interpreted this as more trying to buy him, maybe thought it was an apology, and wasn't mad at him. By the time he had pulled back Miles was trying not to smile and to remain aloof and fashionable-looking, although his twitchy mouth was betraying him hard, and he was slightly, apologetically flushed about it.
"There, now, that wasn't too terrible, darling, was it?" he said in a slightly higher-than-usual voice, colored with a bit of awkwardness dressing itself up as posh.

"No, it's not." He said, sounding almost on the verge of tears, which brought him up short a bit.
He coughed, and when he spoke again sounded more or less like he usually did.
"I missed you."

Miles, much as he would have liked to think of himself as stoic, got a bit weak in the legs at this, as it was unexpected, and unhappy László was and had always been a heart-string puller, damn him for being so seemingly nonchalant and then so terribly distressed and broken beneath.
He clapped him awkwardly upon the shoulder with a tentative glance in the direction of the officer. Police hadn't bothered him in London. It was only now, drat it, that he had left England fleeing the law that they were such a distress. "I - missed you very much," he allowed, which was rather more straightforward a sentiment than Miles was used to, unencumbered by hyperbole. "I don't suppose... well, that we could keep up this conversation under more agreeable conditions?"

It wasn't until Miles reminded him of where they were that he felt a slight irritation at their current surroundings.
"Yes, please. I don't want to be here any longer than I have to."

Here Miles' usual nature got the best of him, as he immediately gave an almost-playful smirk and offered László his arm while saying, "Then I shall whisk you away."

He took the offered arm.
"Let's go...but, I have to stop by the shelter, so John knows I'm not in jail anymore."
He didn't know why he only thought of it now, but he realized that he'd never actually spoken of John to Miles, or the other way around. A bit baffling, that.

"Ah. Yes, John."
There was the faintest sound of stiffness in his voice.
((I'm going to be doing a thread with Jess now with John and Miles, because Miles is going to go there looking for László and find out that way about the arrest. Hopefully it will be done before they have actually stopped by the shelter - I assume they'll talk on the ride there anyway.))

He paused mid-step at the tone, glancing at Miles curiously.
"Have you met before?"
He couldn't think of how they would have--László certainly hadn't introduced them (and considering how confused his feelings for either could be, he never would have attempted it). This stop at the shelter he figured would be quick enough to avoid anything complicated. Or...so he thought?
((Okie-dokie, I figured that's what that thread was. ^__^))

Miles pinched his side a bit good-naturedly. "I haven't magical László senses, darling, I had to learn where you were somehow."

"Ahaha...of course. You must have good detective skills, then. I don't think I ever told you which shelter it was." He said, sounding impressed.
He was in a hurry to leave here, and be somewhere a bit quieter...and more friendly. Not just because jail was unpleasant, but he wanted to talk to Miles without eavesdroppers.
