*pushes open one of the large double doors at the back of the orchestra section gingerly and holds it for Derek to pass through before letting it close again softly and leading the way up the center aisle*
I'm afraid this isn't the best time to see the opera...it's extremely beautiful when the lights are on, I promise. Have you ever seen our chandelier?
*points up at it, though at the moment it's barely visible in the darkness*

*He, of course, could see it perfectly clearly, even in the dim lighting.*
"I haven't seen it before, but I see now that it's very beautiful." *He said, only looking at the thing for a second before glanding back to her. In fact, that was mostly what his comment was directed at. Not the big shiny light fixture.*

*totally misses the meaning of his words, as she's still looking at the chandelier*
Wait until you can see it in the daytime. It looks nice now, but it's much more beautiful than you'd even imagine. And this is the orchestra pit--
*trots over and peers down into it, gesturing for Derek to do the same, even thought there is nothing to see right now*

"I don't often walk in public during the day--I tend to remain inside during the daylight hours. I find the moon a better light anyhow." *He said, as he walked to where he was standing right behind her, his (admittedly unecessary) soft breath on her neck.*

*shivers at his nearness and can't think of anything to say for several moments*
Um. Oh, here's something to show you...
*takes a few shaky steps, unsure of just how close to him she does or doesn't want to be at the moment, and points up at Box Five*
That's Box Five, the Opera Ghost's box. Did you know we had a ghost here?

*He stepped back reluctantly--the smell of her blood was far too strong. He had a reaction to her blood like he hadn't to anyone's before--it called to him in a way he wasn't sure he could resist if he remained near.*
"And do you believe in ghosts, Bonnie?"

*nods, glancing over at him as she leans against the wall of the orchestra pit*
Yes, or at least I believe in this one. They say he kidnapped a singer here once and took her underground. That's where he lives. Some people say he's still around here, even though he let that girl go. I've never seen him, but I know people who have.

*His gaze was intense, his eyes a nearly-glowing topaz color.*
"But other ghost stories. You don't believe in those?"

I haven't really heard that many, actually. I wasn't allowed to hear them when I was a little girl, and the Opera Ghost is the only one I've heard since I came here.
*meets his eyes, although her stare is more curious than intense*
Why, do you know any good ones?

"Enough of them to fill volumes. Stories of vampires." *He said, his voice low and intense.*

Ooh, really? I don't think I've ever heard a real vampire story before...
*walks over and sits in one of the plush red chairs, signalling that she's ready to hear a story, should he want to tell her one*

*He shook his head.*
"The stories I know aren't of the garden variety--you wouldn't sleep for weeks."

*smirks, but in a kind way*
I don't sleep anyway, remember? I rehearse all night.

*He wasn't quite so cheery.*
"Have you heard any other stories of vampires?"

*shakes her head, her dark hair swinging around her pale face*
No. Well, I mean, I've heard about Dracula, but not really...I've just heard of him, that's it. And I've heard that they don't like crucifixes, right? Or was that made up?
