((My poor Vianne. What HAPPENED to you?))
Percy kept an eye on his wife as he spoke to his son. And then he felt someone watching him, and turned quietly. The young man from before had been joined by a woman.
"How odd," he murmured.
He turned back to his son.
"Ahh, thank you m'boy. We do indeed eat normally."

"Four, actually. Andrew, Nora, Lily, and Robert. Andrew and Nora are here, if you'd like to meet them..."

When the man turned in her direction, Violetta tried to catch his eye, but he was too quick for her and he had already turned back to the conversation.
Taking a deep breath, she slowly approached the group, giving them a polite nod.
"I beg your pardon, I'm sorry to intrude, but I...well, this will sound a bit strange, but I feel as though I know you from somewhere." She said, addressing Percy and Vianne.

"Oh, you'd be surprised what the French get up to, or anyone for that matter. At a certain point the stories get so ridiculous that they have to be true." "Well then, I shall have to ask someone about these stories someday. I don't suppose you know anyone that is knowledge about such things?"

Percy turned as a lovely, raven-haired beauty approached him.
He drew in his breath.
My God, you look so like Rebecca.
"Bon soir, madamoiselle," he drawled. "I regret that I am not aquainted with one such as your ladyship, but I shall seek to remedy that immediately. To whom do I have the honor of addressing?"

"Well then, I shall have to ask someone about these stories someday. I don't suppose you know anyone that is knowledge about such things?" "There are plenty of gossips at court who would know, I'm sure, but I tend not to pay attention to such things. They too often turn out to be hurtful. I only know my family's stories with any great familiarity, and my own storytelling abilities are quite dull to begin with."

"Oh! That would be lovely; I--"
Vianne broke off as a young woman approached them and spoke, looking curiously at her.
"...well, er...what is your name, my dear?" she asked gently, smiling at the girl and feeling that same strange pull she saw in the girl's own gaze. A moment before her lips moved to answer, Vianne had it in a flash upon her mind, and her own eyes widened.
"Beetle's daughter!" she gasped aloud.

Tony glanced at his niece with an apologetic half-smile and downed the rest of his glass of champagne.

Percy looked sharply at his wife.
"Vianne, are you--" he broke off suddenly, and his luminous blue eyes widened.
"Indeed, my little one, you are her child."
He came over and stood looking very tenderly down at the young woman.
"Have you any news of your mother?" he asked softly.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, monsieur. I am Violetta de Chagny-von Hapsburg--"
But at Vianne's exclamation, and then the flurry of activity, cut of whatever else she might have said, and instead Violetta was regarding them with a look of both joy and wonder on her face.
"I...it is you! I thought I'd recognized you, and it seems my brother did, too--" she gestured in the direction of Zachaire, who did not notice as his attention was elsewhere at the moment.
"Mother is doing wonderfully--from our visits and her letters, I can see just how happy she is."
She almost too excited--the prospect of seeing these two was one that she'd never entertained, as she'd thought it something that would never happen.

Percy smiled joyfully at his granddaughter.
"I am most pleased to make your acquaintance at last, my dearest. Your mother should be very proud of you."

Vianne had pressed her hands to her cheeks, nearly giddy.
"Oh, God bless you, each of you wonderful, wonderful, blessed children!" She gave Tony a kiss on the cheek, then Ellie, then Violetta, in turn, careless of the circumstances or surroundings and only thrilled to see her family once more.

Percy shook his head, his blue eyes shining.
"You must forgive my wife," he said kindly to Violetta. "She has not seen our children in many years, and is overexcited at the prospect."
He glanced at his wife.
"My dear, don't faint. I left the smelling salts in the carriage, and it would be a loathsome bother to have to fetch them, what?"

"Fiddlesticks, Percy, you're more like to swoon than I," snapped Vianne, grinning like a maniac. "I feel like I could stay awake for a week just now."

"It's all right," Violetta said, not at all minding the display.
"We'd-we'd though that you were...lost." She said, her voice growing small.
Behind her, Zachaire had noticed his sister in the emotional conversation, and had started to make his way through the crowd toward the assembled group.
