*She shrugged.*
"Most stagehands don't wear masks. It's a little suspicious and the ballet rats are easily spooked."

" 'Most' would imply that some do."Besides, perhaps I simply feel like being behind the curtain, Miss Mullee." Erik was not willing to give up so soon.
((Erik may not, but I am because I have to go for a bit. Brother wants Warcraft. X( ))

*She rolled her eyes.*
"Fine. Stagehands do not wear masks. Nor do they wear nice clothing. Therefore, since you were hiding behind a curtain AND wearing a mask, you are by default one of the phantoms. In addition, a stagehand would be peeking at the dressing rooms, not the auditions."

"Touchè." muttered Erik, smirking and golf-clapping Micaela's conclusion. "I trust you are not going to turn me in?" he asked, a bit more serious.

*She smiled a little, triumphantly.* "Thank you. I was on debate team. And no, I've got my own secrets to keep, no use running aroung telling others'. It's silly, to say the least."

Erik nodded, feeling relieved that he would not have to make much of a scene after all. "No, thank you. If what you say is true, then you have spared me a lot of trouble." He paused. "Is this 300 Opera something new? I have never heard of it before."

*She shrugged.*
"It's about the 300 Spartans at the battle of Thermopylae, and I have no idea where it came from. I suppose it must me new, even though there's no discernable composer. I was just bored, and rehearsals at my other job aren't taxing my ability to audition here."

"I see. I can't say it sounds like the best plot for an opera as the vast majority have some kind of romance...unless there is any and I didn't hear about it?" he said critically. Otherwise, he didn't see much place for a woman in an opera purely about a battle unless it was a trouser role.

*She shrugged.* "Apparently there was some sort of romantic subplot. And anyway, the Garnier is full of women and far too few men. I have a feeling I'll either not get a part or get a male part, which is why I'm happy I have my other job."

"You musn't say that." said Erik. "I am confident that you will get a decent role in this..." He searched for a word that would not make him sound nearly as skeptical as he was. "interesting opera."

*SHe shook her head merrily, smiling a little like Luna Lovegood.* "Oh, no... I've got a job at another theatre, you see. I'm playing Mimi in their production of La Boheme, even though I don't think it's been written yet."
((gotta go for a while and clean. hopefully back in an hour or so.))

((Close enough. I mean...Phantom takes place anywhere from 1870 to 1896 or 1897.))
"I congratulate you, then. Mimi is an impressive role." Erik said smiling, but then a question came to his mind. It seemed to him something did not fit. "However, how can you audition here with such a large role? Surely, it must take up a good amount of your time?"

*She shrugged.*
"The theatre isn't really a demanding one... It's called Le Phoenix, in the quartier latin, and it's pretty sketchy. Plus, their performance isn't for a long time. At the moment most rehearsal takes place in my room with my copy of the score--we only meet once a week."

He made several 'tsk' noises. "That is a shame. May I say that at this rate La Boheme might not make it? Even with the large amount of time you have shouldn't the roles be perfected as soon as possible?"

*She raised an eyebrow.*
"Not all theatres can have their performers living there. Besides, the rehearsals will get more time-consuming as time goes on. It's really more of a social gathering place for creative people than an actual theatre, anyway. The opera isn't being put on to make money, but to entertain us and possibly others, like if a school were doing a performance. It reminds me of when I was in school plays, sort of."
