*Holmes strode down the hall, his name having opened some doors. Stopping precisely in front of Lecter's cell he turned and stared down the dapper man inside.*
"If you so much as touch a hair on that lady's head again, I will not wait for the hangman to collect you."

And who is this?
*Hannibal stared at the man calmly.*
"Good evening, sir. Perhaps we might be civil enough for introductions before you start your threats. Dr. Hannibal Lecter. It's a pleasure, I'm sure."

*Oh, but this was a rare one. Holmes was miffed, slightly, that he had forgotten his manners. But he banked his anger.*
"Mr. Sherlock Holmes," *he said, not caring anymore who knew he was alive.* "And the pleasure is, I am certain, all yours. You attacked a woman with a knife; I'm afraid I have little patience for manners when gentlemen refuse to behave as such."

Hmm...kettle...black...
*Hannibal stared at Holmes calmly.*
"I did not request your presence. You are, of course, free to take your leave if you find me so unpalatable. I would beg my leave, but alas."
*He gestured at his cell.*

"It is of little matter to me what you request or not. I am here for my own edification."
*Holmes sighed, calming himself down.*
"Forgive me; my temper got its way for a moment. I represent Ms. Irene Adler."

*Hannibal staved off a smile.*
Represent her? Or burn for her?
"And she sent you her to do what? Threaten me on her behalf? I like to think that my incarceration would have already helped with her therapy. Given her back her self-confidence. After all, she is out there, isn't she?"

*A muscle in Holmes' jaw twitched.*
"She thought you might have some information about one Dracula. Whatever your quarrel with the lady is, he is a dangerous man."

*Hannibal nodded once.*
"No doubt. And you thought I could what? Gift wrap him up for you with a smile? Tsk tsk, my dear Holmes. Perhaps you might want to offer something in return."

*Holmes raised an eyebrow.*
"And what might I have, Dr. Lecter, that you would want?"

*Hannibal looked aloof.*
"Well, that would depend on what you want in return. Quid pro quo. I tell you things, you tell me things. Not about this case, though. About yourself. Quid pro quo. Yes or no?"
*He paused for a moment.*
"Yes or no, Holmes? Poor little Irene is waiting."

((Holmes: *looks down at his knock-off purse and wishes he wasn't using Evian skin cream or whatever.))
*Holmes looked the man over. An extortionist? Or merely curious? He was clearly a man of refined manners and tastes. His presence here implied the kind of carelessness he could not display often; a quirk of passion which had gotten him caught.*
"Am I to infer, then, that you have something of interest to me?"

((*iz ded from that mental image*))
*Hannibal's stare was constant.*
"Well sir, I hardly know you. How do you expect me to know what knowledge will be of use to you? But I have had dealings with the man you mention."

*Holmes sighed inwardly.*
"Very well, if it will procure the information I need. But you must divulge first."

*Hannibal smiled slightly.*
So that's how it's going to be, eh?
"I met him as Mason Verger, an interesting fellow, the son of Molson Verger, a wealthy meat packer and successful businessman. I treated his sister, Margot, first actually. They seem to have an interesting family dynamic."
*He ached his brow.*
"Tell me, Mr. Holmes, how was your home-life growing up? Always a bit of an outsider? Never quite fit in? But it let you see things from a detached perspective, didn't it?"
