((place this wherever you want pre-world-explosion))
*She was just reconciling herself with the fact that she would be here forever. Feeling bad about her behavior at Karnak, she decided to make a totally-vegetarian dinner for Adrian (and Adrien, if he should join them). There was vegetable quiche with mushrooms and asparagus, broccoli sauteed in olive oil, potatoes roasted according to her family's special recipe. She hummed as she placed the quiche in the oven and set the timer.*
*When the timer went off, there was no girl there to remove the quiche. In her place were her clothes and spatula, fallen as if she'd suddenly disappeared.*
*She awoke to the feel of a pillow under her head, and rolled over as if to climb out of the bed she had been placed in. The dinner, what had hap...*
*She sat straight up when she saw where she was. She patted herself, the sheets, felt the wall to make sure it was solid... she was home. Home, the place she'd thought (and accepted that) she'd never see again. That was her own god, her Mocha, nosing open the door, and her mother's voice calling for her to wake up. What did it matter if any of what had happened had been real, she was home. When she tried to summon her clothes to her, they didn't move. Not even a twitch. The powers were gone, too.*
*She burst into tears, smiling ear to ear, and went to let the dog in. She held him so tight he squirmed away, but she didn't mind. There was the outfit she'd set out for her first day of senior year; there was her computer and her bag and her sleeping sister. Said sleeping sister was not asleep for long, as Micaela had pounced on her.*
"Jesus Christ Micaela, what's wrong with you?"
*Micaela laughed.* "Nothing. Absolutley nothing. I just missed you."
*Annie raised an eyebrow.* "While you were sleeping? Freak-face." *She muttered affectionately, and rolled over and went back to sleep.*
*Micaela pulled on her outfit and went to the closet to get her sweater. At the back, she spotted an unfamiliar glint of gold and shiny purple...*
