"Pemberley?" *asked Anne.*

"Our estate," Darcy said. "In Derbyshire."
"I do hope you come visit some day, Miss Shirley," Georgiana said impulsively. "It is really the most beautiful house in the world."

*Anne smiled at Georgiana.*
"I thank you for the invitation, Miss Darcy. I wish someday perhaps to return to Europe...there is so much I have not seen."

Georgiana beamed.
"Oh, I do hope so, Miss Shirley. I, too, hope to travel someday soon."

"I can hardly imagine the excitement you must feel--you are young and independent thanks to your brother. The world is at your feet, Miss Darcy. Where will you go?"

Georgiana blushed slightly, and glanced at Darcy, who knew she was thinking on the events of barely a year ago that had set back her plans to travel. It was not that he did not trust her; he knew she had learned her lesson. But both were loathe to invite a repetition of the mistakes of the past, and it had led to some inertia.
"Most of all, I think I should like Greece," she said. "And Italy, of course, and Spain and France... But I long to sketch the ruins."

"How lovely it all sounds. Of course, you will write to me of all these things, Miss Darcy?"

Her request seemed genuine, and Georgiana smiled with pleasure.
"Of course," she said. "And you; will you write to me of the activities of your charming town in Canada? It seems so different from here."

"If you truly wish to know just whose cabbages take the prize at the local exhibition, then yes, you shall have details galore from Avonlea," *laughed Anne as Darcy plotted how to steal the letters from his sister's possession after she'd read them.*

"I'm certain you could make even that contest suspenseful, Miss Shirley," Georgiana declared, and Darcy wondered if this had been so wise, introducing them. Still, the association could not be bad for his sister, and as for himself... he would endure.

*Anne laughed.*
"I will try my best, Miss Darcy. And when you have finished seeing all the delights of Europe and the rest of the globe--when you are old and gray, most likely--you might come and visit me in Avonlea. You could meet all my chums--Diana would love you--and Gil's great for a laugh and Ruby would want to know about all the fashions she's ALIVE in this canon, okay? and Jane would do anything to make you feel at home..."

Georgiana laughed lightly as Darcy's mind seized on the only male name in the list and wondered about that and the slate and where things stood now.
"Oh, I should love that," she said. Her soft eyes turned to Darcy. "Wouldn't that be lovely, Fitzwilliam? A trip to the Americas?"
He hesitated slightly. "Yes, indeed," he said.

"You would both be welcome, at any time," *said Marilla.* "Though...Avonlea might be more rural than you're used to, even at your country estate. The White Sands Hotel may be more to your liking..."

"There is no question of imposing on your hospitality, Miss Cuthbert," Darcy said smoothly. "My sister speaks of hypotheticals. But I am certain it would be to both our liking."

"As you wish," *said Marilla.*
"You must tell me absolutely everything about Italy and Greece and, well--everything!" *said Anne to Georgiana.* "I would dearly love to hear about such places as it's unlikely I shall ever see them for myself."
