"Still?"

"How many times do you expect me to repeat myself, boy?" Adrian snapped.

He threw his arms around him and kissed him full on the mouth.

Adrian returned the kiss, and then pulled away to push his hair back into a more acceptable position.

Which Adrien promptly ruined by pushing his own adoring fingers through it as he leaned forward for another kiss. Despite the exhuberance in his attitude, it was not quite passionate; he didn't part his lips or press against him as he might have had he been trying to lead them to using the bed for something specific.
When he pulled back, the smile was nearly the same as ever, although there was an element of awe to it.
"You're more than a father to me, Adrian," he said, half-smiling as though he could hardly believe what he said, but not in such a way as to make it less serious. "More than an employer. You're a God."

"Adrien," he said, with a wry smile, "you flatter me."

"I'm telling the truth," he said promptly. He took both hands and kissed them several times, this time not looking at him, before pushing himself back, holding himself up with both hands on the coverlet.
He looked very, very tired, but oddly satisfied.

"See? You cannot be as bad as you say."

He looked momentarily struck, uneasy, before he slipped back into smiling. It was not that he had hidden the reaction; he was sincere in his smile. But it had made him briefly uncomfortable.
"No matter what you say, Adrian," he said very seriously, "it's... it's not all right."
He then took this opportunity to stifle a yawn.

Adrian stood, facing away from him.
"Well," he said softly, almost imperceptibly, "I suppose none of us are as good as we are painted."

"'Cept for you," said Adrien with sleepy happiness. "I love you, you know." He sprawled on the bed, folding his arms on the pillow and resting his head on them, watching Veidt's silhouette.

He glanced over his shoulder at him with a weary smile.
"I... yes," he forced himself to say, without much feeling. "Except for me."

"Come sit next to me?" he asked, patting the bed, rolling onto his side.

"Of course."
He relaxed next to him and extended one arm around his side to hold him close.

He slipped closer, exhaling and relaxing. He hadn't realized how tense he was. "Mmmloveyou," he murmurred, eyes shutting unbidden.
