*She smiled brightly.*
"It's strange being the patient for a change. It actually puts things in perspective for me."
*Diana chuckled.*
"Leave it to me to see my current situation in terms of my work, huh?"

"It's hard fer me ta unnerstand, I'mma janitor" he started moving slowly toward the back room "I want ta show ya this room, when I came ta Paris I took paintin lessons from a nice fella, I didn't have nothin else ta do, so why not right?" He opened the door and light a large candle at the entrance.
Leaving her at the entrance, leaning against the door frame he proceeded to light all the other candles in the room.
There were paintings everywhere, they weren't magnificent, weren't a work of a master, but they were damn good for a good old boy from Missouri.

*Diana stood there, speechless.*
"This is amazing, Jesse," *she said quietly but with much surprise.*
"Working as a janitor seems to be an awful waste of such talent."

He chuckled and helped her in to the room "Oh I ain't got talent, plus I make good money at the opera. You do when you're the boss" smiling he brought her over to a paintin that was on an easel in the corner. It looked like a work in progress, it was obvious who it was.
"What do ya think? I mean it ain't finished or nothin, but-" he blushed "ya know."

*Diana got closer to it and silently observed it for a long moment. Finally, she turned to Jesse.*
"It's gorgeous," *she said sincerely, placing a gentle hand on his cheek.* "I don't think I've ever looked better."

"Even today?" *she asked jokingly, well aware of the way she looked at that moment: tired, weak and gaunt.*

"Don't matter what day it is" he chuckled "yer always beautiful to me."
He looked over at the painting and noticed one sitting on the floor he had forgotten to put away, it was of a young blond man with bright eyes, Jesse smiled at it and turned back to Diana with that same smile.

Walking softly, he followed Jesse to the studio, impressed that he had an apartment large enoug to acommodate one.
"You have a really nice place, here."

"When ya run the crew of the opera house, the managers pay ya double, sayin that my life is in danger more" he chuckled and opened the door to the studio and smiled as he set the painting on an open easel. The studio was large for a flat and filled to the brim with all sorts of things.
"Sorry it'sa mess, but hey whater ya gonna do hrm?" He turned to Christian as the door closed behind them "It'sa spring lock, keeps the rooms warm, cheaper than coal."

He smiled at the messiness of the room. It was rather endearing.
"Oh, I don't mind. I'd be more concerned if this was a completely tidied up room."

"That is true" he smiled and stuffed his hands in his pockets "oh yea, hey let me show you" but before he could finish his sentence his foot caught on a large bucket of clay and he fell right in to Christian, pushing him against the wall.
"I- uh, sorry, I ain't normally, you okay?" He apologized but found that he couldn't move, or wouldn't.

Christian was stunned for a few moments from the impact, but when his wits finally caught up to him, it finally sunk in that he was pinned to the wall by Jesse, the two of them almost eye to eye.
"I'm okay." He said, a bit breathless.

"Goo, good" Jesse managed to say, his face barely inches away from Christians "I hope, I didn't, hurt" but he couldn't talk anymore, something was stopping him, and he knew what it was.
He felt his hands wrap around Christian and his lips press in to his.
