Belle came down the stairs, still musing over what Yager had said. She only had one really nice dress- the one she'd worn to the ball- and she didn't know why she needed to wear it again to a simple dinner with Johannes. At least this meant it'd be more of a standard dinner and not the sort of dinner Belle actually subsisted on. "Johannes?"

"Belle..."
The count smiled a smile he hadn't dared smile before he'd received Herbert's blessing, even if he was nervous. His beloved was a vision indeed, a vision that was enough to make Johannes' unbeating heart swell with intense love.
He himself was dressed to the nines, even if he was scared the box with the engagement ring would burn a hole into his pocket.

"I hope you don't mind that I reused the dress..."
She came a little closer, lifting her skirt just enough to show the rosettes on the tips of her little golden dancing slippers as she did so.

"You look beautiful, my love."
The look on the count's face more than showed the compliment was meant. In fact, never in his unlife had Johannes von Krolock looked this much in love. If only she'd say 'yes' to his proposal, he'd probably also look happier than he had in recent centuries.
With another smile he reached out his hands for her to take.

Belle's small gloved hands closed on his larger, bare ones. She always wondered if his hands ached as badly as it looked like they might, and she gently ran a thumb over them as she smiled up at him, to ease whatever pain there might have been in them.

Any pain Johannes might have had would melt away instantly at her smile and he lifted her hands to his lips to brush a kiss across her knuckles.
"I hope you're hungry." The count smiled and led her to the more than romantically decorated room.

"I hope you didn't ask me to dress like this for a... well, our sort of dinner-"

"I did not request any sort of dress, my love... but no, this is not our sort of dinner." To prove his point, Johannes gestured to the table that was set in equally romantic fashion with all kinds of human delicacies.
The graf immediately moved to pull Belle's chair back for her.

"Yager suggested I dress up," Belle replied as she gracefully lowered herself into the chair. "He made it sound as though you were planning something."
She raised an eyebrow at him and smirked playfully.

"Me? Planning something? Why, Belle... the things you accuse me of." The count chuckled and sat down as well.
"I was just hoping for a nice night to ourselves. A romantic dinner, candlelight... perhaps a bit of dancing and stargazing later on..."

Belle smiled and blushed a little as she glanced down.

"Bon appetit, Belle." The count gave his beloved a warm smile and poured them both some actual wine, a rarity among vampires.
The count never got that, the better kinds were delicious.

"Thank you, Johannes."

Johannes smiled and began eating, occasionally offering Belle a bite of one thing or other. The chef who'd prepared this had truly outdone himself.

Belle rose from her chair to offer him a quick kiss on the cheek.
