"Yea" he nodded "I'll... go now, you need rest."

"'kay. And...thanks. If...if you hadn't come along when you did--"
His voice had grown softer as he spoke.
"...thank you."

Smiling he walked over to Laszlo and touched his shoulder softy "I'll be around."
And with that he was gone.

John knocked on the door "May I come in?"

Had he just made friends with a vampire?
The knock on the door interrupted his thoughts--he'd have to think more on it later.
"Yeah, sure."

John came in with a plate of food "Hungry?"

"A little bit."
Which was true, though his word were reluctant--his neck hurt from when the bastard had choked him, and László was pretty sure that swallowing food down was going to hurt.
Also, he was dreading the lecture he was certain was coming.

John smiled and sat down next to Laszlo in a chair, helping the boy up he set the food down on his lap.
"Where, where did your friend go by the way?"

"Oh, uh, he couldn't stay...had somewhere he had to be." He said lamely.
He really couldn't lie very well about Louis, as he didn't really know much about him in the first place. Hard to make up something even remotely believable that way.

"Ah, right" he nodded "he seems, like a very nice man."

"Yeah."
For a vampire.
He started in on the food John had brought, going through it slowly as it was just as he'd thought--it hurt to swallow.

"You're going to do what Isa said though right? You're going to take it easy for a while, right? I mean I can't stop you from doing anything, but..."

"I won't be going back out again for a few nights, no." He said softly.
"I promise."
He would stick to that promise, too--right now the very thought of going back out there and letting anyone approach him made him nauseous.

He smiled "I know you don't know me and I don't know you, with all the people that come and go through here all the time, I never have time to really get to know any one of them. But I just want you to know, that if you ever really need help, I can help. No matter what."
Exhaling John stood up "When you're finished just put it on your bedside, I'll come and get it later."

The generosity of John's words left László speechless for a moment, and he merely nodded by way of answer. He was getting used to having around people that did care, but it was still overwhelming at times.
"Thanks."
