"Mozart," she gasped out. "I love that guy."

"You should try singing it too! He's so awesome," she said dreamily.

"Ah," he shrugged. "I don't think singing is one of my strengths. Maybe in the shower when my voice is up for it. You sing?"

"I hope so especially since I'm an aspiring opera singer," she said with a smile.

Ned looked impressed and slid onto a spare stool behind the counter.

"Well, you gave me a piece of pie. I guess it's only fair."
She got up, took a few steps back towards the middle of the shop and put a finger to her chin.
"What should I sing....Oh! I got it! It's been a while since I've sung this so I might just screw it up. Sorry if that happens."
With that little disclaimer, she began to sing.
Are you going to Scarborough Faire? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Remember me to one who lived there. She once was a true love of mine.
Have her make me a cambric shirt Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Without no seams, nor fine needle work. Then she'll be a true love of mine.
"Aaand that's it. I don't remember the other fifty verses."

He applauded loudly.
"I can't believe you're not famous yet--that was great! You know, I think there's an opera house just down the street. Have you thought about auditioning there?"

"I did already! Some new, opera that sounds like a total acid trip," she said, beaming. "I mean, the music hasn't even been written yet so it's gonna be a while until I get on stage. But you've gotta start somewhere, right?"

"Start somewhere, indeed," he said, looking ever more impressed. "You promise to get me tickets to your performance?"

"Er... I can promise to sneak you in. That's the best I can do," she said with a wink.

"A promise you'd better keep. You shouldn't deprive musically-challenged individuals, like me, of your talent."

Rach gave him a sideways glance.
"Are you trying to flatter me, Mr. Ned?" she said playfully.

"I'm merely being truthful," he replied a little bashfully.
