Well. This time, she wasn't going to screw it up, or let anyone else screw it up. It was her new job, and she was going to handle it with care. Or, at least, that was what Adrian Andrews was thinking as she stepped into the lobby, head held high and hair tied back. In reality, of course, she was doing all she could to keep from shaking.
She wasn't quite fazed by the decor--it was impressive, certainly, but she'd been to lavish award ceremonies and sets at least as impressive. A thought struck her, though, as she had entered, and she paused, glancing around hesitantly for the desk. If she was going to be the receptionist, where was somebody to greet her...?

Most people who ran companies the size of Veidt Enterprises because that's the canon name and Megan was an idiot when she had this subboard named didn't see fit to know every employee that worked for them at corporate headquarters.
Most people weren't Adrian Veidt, either.
His current LOL FORESHADOWING personal assistant was the one who came to find Miss Andrews in the lobby and lead her up to Veidt's office.

That had been noted by her beforehand--it was a nice touch, she thought, especially when most of the world seemed to be filled with thieves and liars, as she put it. This little personal touch was a plus.
She put on her best "pleasant but unfeeling" face, and followed the woman up the stairs, at least having a direction. As usual, she had her daily planner with her, and she fiddled with it idly all the way up.

((I'm starting to suspect at least 80% of Veidt's posts around here, and other people's posts in response, are powered by some kind of Dramatic Irony Drive.))
Veidt was standing at the window when she arrived, with his back to the door.
"Miss Andrews to see you, sir," said his assistant. "Thank you," he said, without turning around.

((At least as powerful as Improbability, I'm sure.))
Fortunately, Andrews was able to maintain her composure. She was used to being around famous people, at least.
Folding her hands in front of her, she gave a slight bow forward, before gently clearing her throat and steeling herself. "...Allow me to say, sir, that I'm touched by the personal attention. I'd feared it was lost." A good way to open, she hoped.

*Well, mid-interview, an excitable kitten burst into the room. Said kitten was a cave-lion kitten, which meant he was about the size of a small Labrador. Behind him came a yelling bundle of blonde in a purple cardigan--Micaela spending the day at the company.*
"ADRIAN WHY DID YOU MAKE HIM SO FAST MOO GET YOUR FURRY ASS BACK HERE AHHHHH"
*The cat turned and ran back towards his pursuer, and they collided mid-office, landing Micaela on the floor under her pet.*
"Ohhh who's my precious Moo, who is?" *Moo was licking Micaela's face and chuffing happily. She still hadn't noticed that Adrian had someone in here.*

Veidt turned around as though nothing had happened.
"Micaela, I am conducting business."

*She gasped and stood, brushing cat hair off of herself.*
"Oh my God Adrian I'm so sorry I had no idea oh God I feel like an idiot" *A little hand covered her mouth.*

"Miss Andrews, this is Micaela, my ward and heiress to Veidt Enterprises," he said calmly, coming up behind Micaela and putting a hand on her shoulder.

*Micaela bounced back fast, and was now nodding and giving a ridiculously huge sheepish grin.*

This was--well, disconcerting, and Adrian took a step back, her glasses nearly falling from their admittedly precarious perch. In a moment, though, she took a deep breath and nodded. You couldn't let it rattle you.
"How do you do? I am Adrian Andrews. I've applied for a job here...though I'm sure you could tell." She bowed gently again.

"Yeah, I mean, I figured, but I've stopped keeping track of who Adrian has in his office because there tend to be a lot of people in his office not all of whom I recognize and I haven't much of an attention span and..."
*She stuck out a hand to shut herself up, grinning amicably.*
"Micaela Heekin."

Andrews' expression didn't change, but she did have a moment to pause and look Micaela over more closely. Well, she certainly was excitable...nothing new there. Almost hating herself for it, as she always did, she also noticed that this girl was pretty cute, as well.
"A pleasure, I'm sure."

"I'm just gonna take my extinct feline and get out." *She said brightly, picking Moo up (this made her look like a toddler trying to carry a housecat) and moving towards the door.*

Veidt had a pressed , impatient smile as he waited for her to leave.
