"That Beethoven", as it so happened, had dozed off in the meantime and snapped awake when the conversation filtered through.
He straightened in his seat, giving the two conversing a girls a nod and a smile.
"Welcome, ladies."

"Calm down." *She said, laughing.* "Wolfgang heard me doing warmups and exercises and decided I had it."
*She turned to Beethoven.*
"A pleasure to meet you; I'm Ophelia as you no doubt have gathered." *A sly, teasing look in Mozart's direction.* "Since someone shrieked it at ridiculously high pitch earlier."

*Rachel stood gaping at Beethoven now.*
"You like Handel, right? I read that you loved Handel--or love Handel-- present tense. You called him "the master of us all". It was during the time were were rehearsing Handel's Messiah and Terry--oh my God, TERRY-- Terry said that you were basically a Handel fangirl-- well, not in those exact words, of course not. Terry isn't a fan of modern day slang-- or future day slang--"
*She stopped abruptly to take a breath. Then, realizing that she hadn't introduced herself, she extended her hand with a bit too much enthusiasm.*
"Hi! I'm Rachel!"

Ludwig broke in to a big grin at the torrent of words form Rachel, and he took the offered hand and gave it a gentlemanly shake.
"Please to meet you, my dear. And yes indeed, I am an admirer of Handel."

"Dear!" He called me "dear"!
*But she kept her composure on the outside... well, kinda.*
"Oh and I took up the viola because of you. No joke. I mean, I sucked-- still suck-- at it but... anyways! Do I... Audition with you?"
*For the strangest reason, she didn't feel nervous at all. She knew she should be but didn't. Not that she was complaining...*

Mozart returned, looking less hungover and even more excited "Why hello!" He exclaimed as he saw Rachel "You're exotic!"

"THANKS!" *she pretty much screamed.*
"Er... I mean, thanks," *she said, calming down.* "I'm sure you hear this a lot but all I sang for the majority of my training were your arias. I freakin' LOVE you... and hate you. Heh-- But I say that with all the love in the world."
*She wasn't exactly making sense. She knew it and didn't care.*
((Btw New research suggests that Beethoven's "Immortal beloved" was some Italian merchant's wife. Apparently, nothing happened because he was also friends with the husband.))

Mozart grinned "Really? I mean I know I haven't written that much..." he giggled and stared at her, she was gorgeous.

*Ophelia moved up next to Rachel, smiling conspiratorially at her.* "Don't stoke his ego, now. He certainly doesn't need it."

*She blushed at his staring in a way that made her look like an Asian tomato.*
"True, he already knows he's awesome," *she said, giving him an adorable wink.*
"So, if you don't mind my asking... what's this opera about? Is it more Leonore-- AKA Fidelio-- or Nozze/Giovanni/Cosi?"

"She can stroke all she wants to Ophelia!" Mozart giggled "and it's a surprise, if you get a part, you get to know what it's alllll about."

Beethoven had been watching Mozart with an air of amusement, and finally chose that moment to speak up.
"Oh, we can at least say that it is a dark comedy." He said with a slight grin.

"Fair enough! Sounds like a perfect mixture of you both," *she said with a big grin.*
"So... who's accompaniment will I have the honor of singing to?"
*She paused and look at both Beethoven and Mozart eagerly. All of it felt so surreal...*

Beethoven got to his feet. He was feeling a bit better than he'd had earlier.
"I'll play, my dear."
He eyed the piano.
"Though I fear the instrument isn't up to par."
