"Trust me... the combination 'woman' and 'vampire' can be deadly even to those who are supposed to be immortal," Yager said with more than a touch of bitterness.
He could quite clearly remember the worst of those cases. Lucifa...

Krolock shook his head.
"I've seen no such thing. All of the female vampires of my acquaintance have been quite agreeable people."
He was thinking of Belle, but also his previous amour, Sarah. And Magda seemed like a nice girl...

"Yeah, wait 'til one locks you out in the sunlight, see how much you like them then," Yager half snarled before he got a grip on himself.
He lifted a hand in what he hoped would be a soothing manner, though the fact that he lowered his upper lip also did a lot to calm anyone's nerves.
"Forgive me, my friend... old memories sometimes come back to haunt me." Yager shook his head a little and made a futile gesture with his hand before lowering it.
The count had become quite dear to him. While this was in an entirely different way than Starr had been dear to him, it was enough to awaken a certain amount of emotion he had buried a long time ago. Especially on this particular subject.
Starr... his band - yes, actual band, playing music and such - of vampires... and Lucifa. Bitter, jealous and above all dangerous Lucifa.
The vampire hunter swallowed hard and attempted to clear his head of such things.
"Well then, what do we do about the demons and their goo?" It was rare that Yager's cheerfulness was somewhat forced, but this was one of those times.

Buffy blinked a little blankly at Krolock. Why was he being so... decent?
"Thank you," she said with the satisfaction of one whose righteousness has been upheld. Though she still didn't get it. The vampires she'd known would have been gloating over her downfall. Not... trying to cure her. She glanced at Yager.
"Well... undo it," she said, waving her hand in a manner that suggested there was some wigglyness involved. She'd love to get Krolock alone sometime. Ask him why Yager was still alive.

((For some reason I read this bit "there was some wigglyness involved. She'd love to get Krolock alone sometime." in a way that made it come together in very bad ways))
"Thank you, captain...ess?" Yager frowned for a few seconds, he really wasn't familiar with female terms and words and such. "Obvious." At least that bit remained intact.
"How do we undo it?"

Krolock would've liked to've brought up how Belle had rescued him from being crispified, but decided that this wasn't really the time for that.
"Captain," he said by way of correction. "Well, first we must find the one Buffy was switched with. Once both of them are back together, there is a spell...oh."
He glanced up at Yager and Buffy.
"I don't suppose either of you know someone that does that sort of thing?"

((Oh yes, that was unfortunate.))
"Oh, Spike?" Buffy said casually. "He said he'd be back to untie me. He's probably..." She frowned. Wasn't he supposed to be back by sundown. "Probably drunk." If not worse. Probably decided to use his new non-vampire ding dong or something. God, he was disgusting! "Whatever. I don't know any witches, no. Can't we do it?"

"I try to avoid magic when I can... so no, nothing on my side either I'm afraid," Yager added.
It wasn't clear to the vampire hunter where this aversion came from, but he always felt like running whenever magic came into play. Almost as if something deep inside of him cherished both a great hate and immense fear of the stuff.

"Yes, Spike."
He sighed.
"I'm not very well versed in such things. I wouldn't even know where to begin. I suppose we'll have to find a witch in town to help us."

"Considering all the people and things in this city, how hard can it be?"
Vampires, Slayers, the occasional normal human, undefinable things... surely, a witch or wizard or warlock or whatever else magical shouldn't be to much of a... hey, wait a minute!
"By 'we', do you mean... 'us'? As in 'me'?"

Buffy didn't trust magic, not entirely, but it was useful. She frowned.
"Magic and me are... not-mixy things," she said with emphasis. She glanced at Yager. "Are you offering?"

"Actually, I was getting ready to run... but eh..." He thumbed over his shoulder in the count's general direction.
"He's faster."

Krolock's normally stoic exterior now held a faint hint of amusement.
"Oh, I see. I suppose I could seek a witch out on my own. You would both be welcome as guests here at the castle, of course."
He'd said that, of course, to see their individual reactions to being left alone together.

Yager looked as if he was sorely tempted to leap into Krolock's arms... or at the very least hide under the man's cloak.
"Oh, I could hardly let you do such a thing all on your own, my friend!"
Do not. Leave me. Alone. With her.
Ever.

"Run..." Buffy repeated. "Away?"
She sighed, glancing at them in turn.
"Don't worry about it," she said. "I can do it. I need to go find Spike, anyway. Only..." She frowned, not sure how to put this. "Look, I'd rather not... that is, never mind."
She didn't want to be allowed to hurt anyone, but she couldn't stomach Yager tagging along--even if he would--and the Crowbar guy would just be too weird. Surely she could make it back without anyone dying, right?
And why did she care, anyway?
