Victor, having finally been able to get around the hoard of zombies that were shuffling around everywhre in Paris, dragged himself into the house, downstairs, and to the room that served as the bedroom for him and his wife. He couldn't completely recall the last time he'd been in here, as there had been a lot of occasions where he'd fallen asleep in the lab.
"Mira...?"

Mira was curled up on the bed, not asleep but seeming to be in her own dreamworld- she'd clearly taken smoke earlier in the day. Still, she turned her head when her husband called her.

He cleared his throat.
"I...we have a new guest, one that I'm not sure what to make of."

Mira formed the word 'guest' with her mouth but didn't speak it. She reached out for her husband's hand, her sense of direction not very good.

He sat down on the edge of the bed, taking her hand.
"A Dr. West...who has moved himself in...and seems to know an unsettling amount about me."

"To team up with me, it seems."
He was so incredulous at this, he still couldn't think of just how to deal with the situation. because good mad scientists work alone except for an Igor

"Dead...more dead..."
She shut her eyes tightly.
"The last one you released ever came back..."

His eyes got a rather vacant appearance.
"I found where he went...what happened. They're everywhere now." He said, his voice a dull monotone.

Oddly enough, Mira relaxed at this news. If the worst had happened, there was nothing to be afraid of.
She leaned in and embraced her husband tightly, wanting to vanish from the world with him.

He was teetering on the edge of madness, he knew. Not that he hadn't shown signs of it before. But just a bit more, and that would be it...a very horrifying, disturbing thought.
He turned to Mira, embracing her back just as tightly. At least there was still some kind of comfort left in his life.

Mira kissed him, trying to hold back tears. Inside her delirium, she knew how far they had both fallen. Each was all the other had in the world, and despite everything she still loved him deeply.

"I almost just want to disappear to somewhere...far away from this place...somewhere quiet..."

He fell silent for a moment, before hesitantly answering...
"I don't think it is."
