Truth be told, Roxanna really couldn't afford this place. However, that was only talking about currency in the strictest sense, as being the daughter of a wealthy, glamorous and deadly public figure carried a good deal of weight.
Roxanna led Carmilla to her room, doing what she knew never to do- inviting a vampire in.

Carmilla still did not think of herself as drunk as she followed Roxanna into her room, although the fact was that she had never actually been picked up at a bar before, which was rather miraculous when one thought of it. In fact, ridiculous though it might have sounded, she did not think of women as people who did that.
Pausing beside a mirror she found in the hallway - which meant that she was for a moment no longer following Roxanna - she attempted to fix her loose hair, not quite fussy but very nearly, secretly fretting about her ability to measure up to someone who did pick people up at cabarets.

Roxanna smiled to see Carmilla fussing with herself- it was almost sweet. She judged that the woman was probably not much drunker than she herself was, and not enough to make Roxanna feel like she was taking advantage of her.
"They don't often bother couples here who make too much noise, what with all the noble libertines renting out rooms."

"My dear, I don't cry out," said Carmilla in what was very nearly a bossy way, although it was somewhat affectionate into the bargain. She turned, letting her hands down, although several strands of hair that had really only been staying up because of her fingers now fell down. "I coo. Like a dove. That sort of thing."
Her lope was somewhat stumbly, but good, and occasionally elegant.

"With that lovely voice of yours."
Roxanna leaned in and kissed her, wrapping her arms about Carmilla's waist, not caring about the chill of her touch.

Carmilla in turn wrapped her arms around her neck, pushing herself towards her, maybe a little surprisingly forcefully, surprising herself with her own happiness.
Gott, I don't even know her name, she thought with pleasant fuzzy not-caring.

Still holding onto her, Roxanna managed to stumble over to the bed, pulling her companion down ontothe silk shhets. Kissing her, Roxanna pused down the shoulder of her dress.

Carmilla half-laughed in incredulity that did not share a border anywhere with the nation of regret (which Carmilla had only visited once or twice in a long life), which momentarily broke the kiss, although not for very long, as Carmilla kissed back.
It was the first time in a long time, as far as she could remember, that she had not been the one doing the pushing, although she was a good deal less startled and innocent about it than anyone she'd known. Kicking off her shoes - rather old-fashioned, with red heels, and diamond buckles - Carmilla reached her arms around and with nimble and delicate fingers undid the fastenings at the back of her dress. It bespoke her experienced when one considered what a pain women's clothing were to undo.
Underneath the tingling that was simple carnal pleasure, Carmilla could feel a sort of tingling over her scalp, and over her spine, and in the lining of her stomach, a dull pleasant ache in her wrists. She put this down as delirium induced by the upcoming inevitable.
Well, now might be a good time to... Carmilla did not want to be accused of attempting to do that which she'd been forbidden to, and so she did not kiss her throat, just her cheek, moving her mouth to her ear.
"I'm Carmilla," she said in a whisper, lips moving against a stray blond curl that had fallen near her mouth, which she kissed immediately afterward, expecting and hoping that this openness would receive its answer in kind. If she had

"I had wondered who you were." This wasn't entirely true- until this moment, all thoughts of introduction had slipped Roxanna's mind. But if she was being offered knowledge of this strange, fair creature (whether the name was a real one or not), it would be only fair to reciprocate.
"My name is Roxanna."
She kissed down Carmilla's chest, going lower and lower as she felt her heart race.

Carmilla half-sat, both to lean into the embrace and to be able to reach the hem of Roxanna's dress. She shook her head absent-mindedly as though to clear it, although that was hardly her intention at all.
"Hm. ... Is Roxanna a name suggesting a garter above or below the knee, then?"
If introductions had slipped Roxanna's mind, it was cosmically fitting, as Carmilla, whose name had not actually been Carmilla when she'd been born, did not once realize that when she had introduced herself as such. She'd been Carmilla for about a century now, though, which made it second-nature to her.

"Above."
Roxanna shook back her hair and reached to pull down Carmilla's stockings. She was working slower than usual, but this was a woman who needed that- cabaret pickup she might be, but one who would demand more than a quick tumble across a barroom table.

... An impression easily gotten from the stockings themselves, made of silk and held up with jeweled garters which would normally have been cold to the touch but for the sudden heat of the skin they'd been touching.
Carmilla was likewise enormously careful and tender in rolling down Roxanna's stockings, gently massaging the inside of her leg with the mount of her thumb, a teasing smile coming into her mouth. Forgetting what it might look like to Roxanna, she leaned forward impetuously to kiss her neck and downward, making a detour along a collarbone, then moving to the swell of one breast. While one hand finished with the first stocking, the other slid upwards to caress her thigh.

"Yes, oh yes..."
Kicking off her own shoes, Roxanna's hands went down, warming the cool flesh they touched. She let her own dress sip off, falling in a pool of black around her feet.

**Fade in**
Carmilla had been a good girl about keeping her promise, not that it hadn't crossed her mind on occasion. Still, she couldn't imagine anything else ruining the mood so much as an admonishment. At least, at this point. Carmilla was not at all anti-admonishment.
She curled up closer, feeling alive and vibrant in a pleasant way, and pushed her nose just behind Roxanna's ear, shutting her eyes, curls catching in Carmilla's eyelashes. It was a strange and intriguing notion. Carmilla might have been more than content, but she was no less insistent or affectionate or demanding for it.

Roxanna continued to hold Carmilla, gently pressing against her.
"Now I know why people will die for you."
