"You didn't scare her did you?" Charles knew that Erik had a certain air about him, that either completely drew people in or scared them away.

Even though Charles was probably the only one who could notice it, a slight pout appeared on Erik's lips.
"Well, I had to approach her in a dark alley... but I think I intrigued her."

That was one way to scare her, but Charles said nothing and simply smiled as the waitress returned with their drinks.

"I gave her a metal rose..." Erik mumbled as he accepted his drink.
He was trying.

"I never said that you weren't" Charles looked across at his old friends face "and that was very nice of you to do that."

"Well, I had to show her I wasn't without power myself... why not turn on the old charm?" Erik smiled slightly, not bothered for once by Charles reading his mind.
Actually, it was quite a comforting feeling to have the other man in his head. Soothing, almost... though he'd never admit that out loud.

"Something you're far too good at" Charles stirred his tea and turned his head back to the stage watching the singer with a far off look.

"Is that so?"
Erik followed Charles' gaze, but couldn't really see what was so special about the girl. Perhaps it was because nothing about this place (save Charles, of course) had any appeal to him.

"Mmhm" Charles took a sip of his tea, holding it in his mouth for a moment, savoring the first taste "you could charm the skirt off the queen Erik."

Erik chuckled before taking a sip of water.
"Ah, then we shall have to consider it a good thing to all of man- and mutantkind that I am forever lost to women." Actually, he was pretty much lost to anyone but Charles... but he liked it that way.

"Than the pants off the prince" he didn't have to read Erik's mind to know what he was thinking. It wasn't as if the man was predictable, but he was exactly that. He was so unpredictable that he was predictable.
It was part of him that Charles found so interesting.

"I have heard rumors that there are various princes, including the Prince Charming are about this city... perhaps I shall test that theory someday," Erik teased.

"Aww, you never let me do anything fun!" Erik laughed, even he couldn't attempt an impression of a teenager at his age without cracking up.

"You're far too good at that" Charles quipped laughing along side of him.
