*Her smile made Donavan's pale eyes sparkle.*
"Right, uh..." *He seemed a little awkward as he tried to decide how best to approach the matter.*
"I can let you finish and...we can...head down." *He lifted his smile to her briefly before inching towards the door noncommittally.*

Nance nodded, saying nothing as she continued to nibble at her lunch. The last several days of regular and wholesome feeding was already working small wonders for her. While she still seemed just as spindly and wiry as ever, there was a flush of colour in her skin and a healthy brightness about her eyes, even if their expression remained aloof and nervous.

*Donavan slipped out into the other room to get some food for himself and give her some privacy.*

When Nance had finished her lunch, she stood up and went to the door, Donovan's shirt and trousers much to large for her, making her look rather childish as she shuffled about. She went into the main living area and sat on the couch to wait for him, hearing him moving around in the kitchen.

*Washing the dishes he eaten on, he was surprised by her appearance. Not that it was unexpected, just that he hadn't expected it so soon.*
"Oh!" *He exhaled sharply, setting the dish down as carefully as he could manage. Then he offered a cautious smile.*
"Was it enough? I mean, are you still hungry?" *He tried to focus on the small talk. It wouldn't do to bring attention to her ill-suited attire, even though it made her all the more adorable. He couldn't start thinking like that. He wouldn't let himself.*

"Yes...yes, thank you. It was fine...better than fine; I mean, more than I'm used to, anyway. It must be good..."
She felt awkward and horrible for seeming so ungrateful, looking back at her hands folded in her lap.
"...thank you. Really."

"You're most welcome. Really." *Donavan couldn't force his smile back, but he did try to avert his eyes, knowing that he often made her uncomfortable. His expression sobered in realization.*
"I'm afraid I wasn't thinking. It might still be a bit before your dress is dry." *They could go out still, he supposed, but she might be even more uncomfortable in his clothing.*

"Er..." Nance glanced down at the trousers. "...I suppose I couldn't pass for a boy, exactly," she said, pushing a loose bit of hair back behind her ear.

"Hmm..." *Donavan's brow lowered in thought.* "I can check on it. Just one moment."
*He hurried to where he'd hung it over the tub. It was drying, but the weight of the fabric kept water well. He returned with a bit of a troubled expression.*
"I'm afraid it's going to be a while yet. At least if you want it really dry."
*He cocked his head slightly, taking her in for a moment.*
"Though you can wear my cap if you like. I mean, you could put your hair up in it and...well, we could keep to ourselves..." *He offered, only trying to be helpful.*

Nance stared at him a moment, then, slowly, she smiled.
"Do you think anyone would believe it?" she asked with slight disbelief, but relishing the harmless deception just the same.

*Donavan gave a small shrug.*
"Maybe. But really, it's hardly their business now is it?" *His smile was small, but supportive.*
"I find that most people in Paris don't really bother with others on the street."
*His brow lifted curiously.* "Does that mean you'd like to go now?"

Nance's smile widened.
"Well, why not, then? Let's go..."

"Lets." *Donavan agreed with a grin before hurrying to fetch the cap for her. Holding it out to her, he tussled his own hair in anticipation of the outing.*
"Here."

Nance took the cap and began to struggle to stuff her hair underneath it, winding it this way and that to try and get it to fit.

*Donavan stepped back to give her some space, busying himself with righting his clothes (not that they were in particular disarray). He hid his smile, trying to not make her feel self conscious about how absolutely adorable she could be.*
