Leetah didn't waste any time. She saw that Helen's wounds were deep, and she had lost so much blood that her time was almost running out. But Leetah was the best healer in Lorien. Some elves even claimed she had the power to resurrect the dead.
Leetah walked over to the unconscious Helen, and knelt by her side. The aura of the elf woman started sparkling and shining bright around her as she placed her shimmering hands over Helen's wounds. The voice she spoke to Helen in was urgent and bidding.
"Helen. Im Leetah. Telin le thaed. Lasto beth nin, tolo dan na ngalad."
((Translation: Helen, I'm Leetah. I have come to help you. Hear my voice, come back to the light.))

Kiba sat down, switching his attention from the Wolfrider to the Elf in nervous confusion. It smelled like the magic Beraht had used, which he didn't like--but it obviously wasn't hurting Helen, so he settled for listening to Starmane's movements as he watched Elf and human.

Starmane was narrowing her eyes, looking at the recently arrived elven healer.
"You're helping a HUMAN? Are you out of your mind? How long will it take before they swipe us away from the surface of the earth, taking it all for themselves? Sorry, but I will not let you help them."
She lifted her hand and were just about to hit Leetah with magic when something unexpected happened.

A beautiful woman with dark hair and beautiful, glittering dark eyes stepped out of the shadows behind Leetah. Her language was that of a Dark Elf's. Even so, her eyes were glittering with humor, and under her frosty, sarcastic attitude, there was hidden a warm, compassionate and noble heart.
This was Princess Wildfeather of The Land of Shadows, her friends called her Wild. She was the cousin of the elf healer Leetah, and the Black Magic shaman of Lorien. Even so, her magic was used for defense only. She spoke to Starmane in a sweet voice filled with laughter, yet nobody could fail to notice she was serious.
"Oooooh, a bit jealous of other healers, are we? Don't want competition on the job, is that it? I suggest you leave.... before someone gets hurt."
She manifested a fire orb, and tossed it between her hands playfully while looking over at Starmane and her wolf.

Starmane growled and sat up on the back of her wolf. Looking at this woman, fealing the air of command around her, she knew she was outnumbered. She could not fight both the wolves and the shamans.
"Very well. I'll leave the human in peace... for now. But watch out, wolves. I will attack again. When you least expects it."
With these words, she left.

Wild watched Starmane and the wolf leaving. She chuckled with laughter and allowed the fire orb to disappear.
"We have to watch out for that one, Leetah. Obviously she wants to replace us in Lorien."
She came over to the wolves and offered her hand in a greeting.
"I am sorry for the lack of a proper introduction. Welcome to the Kingdom of Lorien. I am Wild, and this is my cousin Leetah. I see she is currently busy taking care of your friend. That poor child. What happened here before we arrived?"

Kiba growled as yet another Elf arrived, but focused more on Starmane's threat. When the white wolf headed off towards the retreating Wolfrider, Tsume bounded over and blocked his way.
"I know she attacked Helen and you hate her because she's like Darcia, but she's leaving us alone for now," he reasoned, staring Kiba down to make him pay attention.
"If I kill her now, she won't be able to attack again!" Kiba argued. "We're already being hunted out by Helen's mate and whoever he's gotten to help him--why do we need a weak Elf and her dog tracking us?!"
"We're letting them live because I'm the alpha right now, and you're not exactly the sanest person here," Tsume retorted. "You need a break, Kiba, and I don't mean just sleeping! If this keeps up, you'll be crazier than Darcia by the time you kill Menelaus!"
That was a cheap shot, he knew, but Kiba only snarled for a moment before reluctantly letting go of the matter. The two wolves headed back as Wildfeather introduced herself.
"My name is Tsume, he's Kiba, and she's Helen," he answered. "The elf chick shot her because she's a human, and we all got into a fight. Kiba hates her now."

Wild smiled gently, watching the wolves speaking to each other as Starmane and the wolf retreated. She then listened to their story, nodding carefully.
"From what I understand, this Menelaus is causing you trouble, you have just gotten yourself a Wolfrider tribe as enemies, and your human friend is wounded. For me it seems like what you need right now, is a place to stay and rest yourselves, and a nice meal. As soon as Leetah has cured Helen, I will offer you to stay in my home as my guests."

Helen was still unconscious, but she felt that someone was gently removing the arrow from her shoulder. She expected it to bleed, but someone with warm, healing hands placed their hands over the wounds, and closed them. The bleeding stopped, but Helen was still too weak to open her eyes.

Leetah didn't pay attention to Starmane's threats. She knew her cousin Wild would take care of any intrusion while Leetah was working. Leetah focused all her attention on her patient, and managed to remove the arrow and stop the bleeding. The girl was still deeply unconscious, and Leetah allowed herself to glide into a trance, speaking to the girl's soul, trying to wake her up.
"Helen. Lasto beth nin, tolo dan na ngalad. Return to the light. Step out of the shadows."
She placed her bright shining hand over Helen's heart, willing her to wake up.

In Helen's dark unconsciousness, she heard a voice calling for her. Low and soft, and yet with an unmistakeable air of command in it. This was a voice who should be obeyed. Her soul was pulled torwards the voice. She could hear it.
"Helen. Lasto beth nin, tolo dan na ngalad. Return to the light. Step out of the shadows."
Then she felt a warm hand placed over her heart. A strong heat flooded from the hand. A healing heat, that streamed over her body, piercing into her very soul, giving her all the strength she needed to survive... and to heal.
Surrounded by this energy of love, and overwhelmed by it, Helen opened her eyes and whispered the first name that flashed through her mind. A name that meant more to her than anything else in the world.
"Kiba..."

His ears pricked as Helen finally spoke, and he almost completely forgot about Starmane.
You're better!

Helen smiled faintly and opened her eyes to look at him.
"I had to see you again..."
She whispered shyly and blushed.

Helen smiled when he nudged her arm, and she wrapped her arms around him and gave him a gentle hug, caressing his fur.
"I think I can."
