Hawkeye kicked up his heels on the back of a chair some break room somewhere in the infirmary.
No he didn't really know where he was, nor how he got there, all he knew was that he was in a very modern hospital with people in Victorian dress running around and some cute nurse was watching him from the corner of her eye.
He wiggled his fingers and she giggled and tried to pretend like she was working.
He had noticed earlier he was wearing scrubs and they had some blood on them. For one reason he had been in surgery and was now taking a break.
Wherever he was had all ready given him a job and a place to do it in.

**LATER**
She didn't usually do this.
It was a wonder, Kris thought, she was on the 'verse at all, as little as she did. She wasn't constantly getting raped or falling in with heartthrobs. It seemed the height of ridiculousness that she was seeking out Hawkeye Pierce, of all people. Not terribly glamorous, a known womanizer, and on top of that he sort of looked like her dad.
But oh well. One had to have fun, somehow. She strolled into the infirmary, dressed fairly casually but with, perhaps, a few top buttons undone. For all that she hadn't any cleavage anyway.
"I'm a terrible Sue," she muttered. "I couldn't even get that right."

It was terribly slow at the hospital, so slow that it almost made him miss Korea. He itched his head and yawned while pulling at his Hawaiian t-shirt and crashing in to a woman he hadn't seen.
"Hey oh, sorry about that."

Well, Kris thought. That was lucky. She suppressed her smile, not entirely but so that it was only hinted at.
"That's okay," she said, righting herself. "On your way to surgery?"

He smiled, she was obviously all right "It's been a slow day, one surgery and two hours in the clinic leaves a man with nothing to do" he extended his hand "Hawkeye."

She took it, unable to hide her smile.
"Kris," she said. "I'm afraid it's not quite as clever as 'Hawkeye.'"

"Well my actual name is Benjamin Pierce, not exactly wowing with the locals" he grinned "so what brings you here to chez consumption?"
If there was one thing he noticed, it seemed every patient that came in had tuburculosis. It was like the town was riddled with the disease.
He still didn't wear a mask all the time though, too sweaty.

"Oh, I don't have tuberculosis," Kris explained, belatedly realizing she needed an excuse. Being a robot and all, she didn't really get sick. It was one advantage that had only occurred to her after she'd found out. Since then--not so much as a sniffle. "No, I... er..."
Damn, I'm the worst sue in the entire world!

"Need a check up?" He smiled "I can do that."

Kris blinked. It was as good an excuse as any--she looked human enough, in the right places.
"Yeah," she said. "Yes, it doesn't hurt to be careful, does it?"

"Let me check the roster" he said with a smile and wrote Kris's name and put it next to his "it takes forever to wait for one" he waved his hand toward a room "so is there anything on your mind?" He grabbed a stethoscope and closed the door.

"Hmm," she said. Oh my god, Hawkeye Pierce is going to give me a checkup. Is this what they mean by playing doctor? Does he want me to get undressed? "Well, I've been pretty bored lately. I don't know if that's your department."

"Bored?" He smiled "I imagine we all get bored sometimes" he turned around and went behind her and lifted the back of her shirt "it's a little cold" he breathed on the stethoscope and set it on her back "take a deep breath please."

Kris did as requested, resisting the impulse to crane her neck around to watch him. She shivered slightly at the touch of the stethoscope--not entirely from the cold.
"I can't imagine it's boring, being a doctor," she said. But she knew it was, at times.

"Actually" he moved the right and instructed her to breathe again "I've been bored out of my mind all day."
