Instead of doing the sensible thing and just grabbing Helen, Kiba kept on snarling at the man, so distracted he didn't even drop his disguise--he was obviously resisting the urge to attack so Helen could snap out of it.
"He said get on!" Tsume pushed Helen just enough to get her off-balance, where he hoped her instinct to support herself would kick in and make her grab Kiba. With that taken care of, he dropped his illusion and ran at Menelaus in his real form, stopping a few feet away to bare his fangs.
I have no idea why you're pissing Kiba off, but I'm making sure you don't do anything worse, he told the man, lunging at him for added emphasis.

((Since I am playing both as Helen and Menelaus I'll post as them both in this post *Helen blushed when Tsume spoke to her. She went closer to Kiba, and since she had no idea where to place her hands, she wrapped them around his neck. Menelaus frowned when he saw his wife embracing another man in front of his very eyes. Then he noticed one of the men had changed into a wolf. He didn't even manage to grab his sword before he landed on the floor with the wolf on top of him. He lifted his arms, not to attact the wolf, but to protect his face and throat.* "Hey now, calm down, wolf. I am just here to collect my wife, and I'll be off."

"Whatever you've got planned, I don't think she wants to go with you," he told the man, still pinning Menelaus down as Kiba finally started running, clearing both of them in a careful jump.
He followed Kiba and Helen, slowing down to make sure he was still between the two and Menelaus as Kiba headed towards the door.

King Menelaus of Sparta was seething as he saw Helen disappear with Kiba and the wolf. Just as Helen had pointed out in a conversation with Kiba earlier, King Menelaus was a religious man and believed in all the gods Sparta had to offer. And wolves had a spiritual meaning for him. He could not harm the wolf that had attacked him.
But his wife... that had not only once, but now three times escaped from him... Oh, he wanted her back. She was HIS property. The most beautiful woman in the world. And, in his opinion, also the most treacherous. He wanted her back, so he could kill that unfaithful little.... he didn't know what to call her, he was just too angry to find a proper word.
"You won this time, Helen. But I will win in the end. No matter how hard you try, you will never be capable of getting away from me...."
