*Beethoven smirked*
"And you have lots of chipper melodies. Just think, if we wrote something together, it would all balance out."

Mozart suddenly stopped playing and stared at Ludwig "We have to do it, j-j-just think about how popular it would be! Ludwig von Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, an opera, yes it must be an opera."
He turned to him excitedly and laughed "We have to!"

*For a moment, he was taken-aback, but that quickly disappeared as a huge grin appeared on his face*
"A collaboration to end all collaborations. You, sir, are on to something....and that means, YES."

Mozart squeeled "We must start work right away!" He exclaimed falling off the bench on to the floor "Ow, yes, we must" he stood up excitedly "and it will run for weeks at the Opera Populare, and we will have the deepest tenors and the hight sopranos and the best orchestra in the world, it will be," he took a deep breath and smiled "amazing."

Beethoven, by then, was on his feet as well.
“Exactly! It will be a grand opera the likes of which they’ve never seen. Those critics who think they’ve experienced everything will be in for the surprise—no, the thrill—of their careers.”

"Oh yes, yes, but we musn't tell Vienna" Wolfgangs lips curled "it must be a suprise, yes a suprise, imagine the work she will have to do. Imagine the costumes!"
No he had no idea what it was going to be about and he was sure neither did Ludwig, but he didn't really care.
"Come, follow me!" He grabbed Beethoven's arm and dragged him to his room, it smelled a tad funny, but it was probably from all the empty booze bottles. "Don't mind the mess" he walked over to his drafting table, which was actually the billards table he and Feeney brought in from the library.

Ludwig was laughing at the other man’s enthusiasm.
“I’m sure she’d appreciate the surprise! And, of course, the work.”
No, Beethoven had no idea what the hell they were going to write about, but that could worked out later. He let himself be dragged, wrinkling his nose at the booze but quickly forgetting about that.
He laughed at the sight of the table.
“Interesting choice of furniture, Wolfgang.”

"I find that if I have other things to distract me whilst writing I stay happy" he grinned and knocked a ball across the table, at just the right angle where it came back to him.
"Okay, now I've been working on an opera that isn't finished so you can't see that" he gathered up some papers and threw them in a large leather case and in to a clothes filled beareu and turned with a grin and pulled out some paper and a couple quills and some ink. Handing one to Ludwig and keeping one for himself he rested his elbows on the table "Write."
And so he did, every note that came to his head in perfect harmony with the last.

*Of course, he was interested in the other unfinished opera, but he could needle Mozart about that later. Knocking one of the billiard balls out of the way, he took the offered pen and started writing.
Notes were already in his head, and a melody rose up out nowhere, almost already perfect. Save for this part, and wait--*
"This needs to go before an argument, I think."

"What?" Mozart's head shot up, thrown out of concentration.

*He held up the song he'd just hashed out*
"This solo's tone is suggesting that whoever the speaker is talking to will wind up arguing with her."

Wolfgang's jaw fell open and threw his composition in front of Ludwig "I've just written the argument."

*Both eyebrows shot up in surprise, and the look on his face intensified as he read what Mozart had given him*
"It fits...by the muses, our minds must be linked!"

He grabbed Ludwig's arm "It's fate."

"Indeed! And now, now...hmm...I should think after the argument, she will storm out of the room---"
