Helen blushed when she noticed Kiba. She felt embarrassed by blushing at the mere sight of him, but she couldn't help it. She looked at him.
"I was worried that Menelaus could come here and attack the inn while the two of you are gone. I don't want any innocents to die because of me. So I was thinking... if I come with you two when you are going to track him down.... Brandi can without lying say I am not there. Hopefully they will leave her inn without damaging it."
She looked pleadingly at him.
"Can I come with you, please?"

Kiba's first instinct was to say no, since the danger in their task would be obvious to a stranger. She was only a little heavier than Cheza, so carrying her around wouldn't be a problem, but unless Helen had a hidden preference for raw meat or brought her own food, she'd almost certainly go hungry in a day or two.
She was asking of her own will, and was smart enough to have thought about the mentioned problems, but still...
"If you need to bring your own food, go ahead," he finally answered.

*Helen ran back inside the house.*
"Miss Brandi! Kiba said I could come with him and Tsume, but I need to bring my own food. Can I buy some food here, or will I have to go to the market?"

*Brandi winced, coming into the room with a stern look about her.*
"Please don't shout. This is still an inn. There are other patrons that might not wish to be disturbed."
*Even so, she started towards the door to the kitchen, gesturing for the girl to follow.*

*Helen smiled and bowed her head in understanding.*
"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean any disrespect. I just didn't know where you were."
*She followed Brandi to the kitchen, as requested.*

You didn't bother to try to look first, know did you?
*Brandi just continued into the kitchen and turned back to the girl with a softer expression.*
"You needed food?"

*Helen smiled too.*
"Yes please. Kiba said something about for 2 days. I also need water. I can pay for it. I don't want to be a burden."
*She found her pouch in her dress pocket. Brandi was a really nice hostess. She had already done more for her than she could have expected. So Helen wanted to pay well during her stay here.*

"Actually, you might need more than just a few days' worth," Tsume remarked, having followed them in once Helen actually started planning. "There's a reason we hunted a deer, you know."

*Helen sighed and nodded.*
"I am afraid you are right. Unfortunately, my former husband is a skilled warrior. He might be hard to find - and catch. Just remember his religion forbids him to kill a wolf, okay?"

"Really? I wondered why he wasn't putting up a fight," Tsume continued.

*Helen smiled, eager to explain, well, as well as she could in her broken English with the Greek accent clearly audible.*
"In my country wolves hold a certain spirituality. Also in many other countries around my own. The large city of Rome was founded by Romulus and Remus, a couple of twins that were nursed by a she-wolf. People in my country are making tiny wolf statues and worship them, making sacrifices for luck and for courage. It is strictly forbidden to kill a wolf in my country."

"Huh. I wish our world was like that," Tsume mused. "I'd say a week's worth of food is okay," he added. "If it's not enough, we can just go somewhere else."
He never got why humans always had to cook their food--it made things like this too complicated.

Any time now...
*Brandi waited, brow lifted expectantly.*
"A week is a long time. That much food will be heavy. Hell, that much water will be heavy. Do you have a pack animal? A mule or whatnot?"
((I'm just basing this off the hurricane information our complex gave us. It takes a lot of food.))

((It sounds logical to me. Food and water supplies for a week will indeed crave a pack animal. There are no way Helen of Troy would be strong enough to carry that weight by herself.))
*Helen looked thoughtful. She didn't know that the hunting for Menelaus would take that long. And she had arrived to Paris with a ship. That could make things difficult.*
"Unfortunately I arrived Paris on a ship," *she replied truthfully.* "I am sorry, but I don't have a pack animal. Do you know if it is possible to buy one or rent one somewhere? I have money, so I can pay."

Kiba finally came into the inn, having heard the conversation and clearly not happy with it. "I knew this would happen," he seethed. "Once I start talking about leaving, everyone else wants to go and it gets too complicated. This isn't a game!"
"You're the one who wants to hunt him out," Tsume pointed out. "I have no problem waiting for him to--"
"Quiet!" Kiba snapped, a full-blown snarl turning his face completely inhuman. If there was any doubt he was a wolf, it should be gone by now. "You all stay here if you want, or go somewhere else--I don't care where, but you're not leaving until I've killed him! I am not losing anyone else!"
