*María smiled and looked up at him.*
"Fair enough. But I had a strange feeling that you enjoyed to watch me while you explained."
*There was gentle humor in her eyes.*
"How about you start explaining to me what men do?"

(('what men does' should be 'what men do' or 'what a man does'))
*That look started to come back across Will's face.*
"What happened to 'I wouldn't want to embarrass you'? Change your mind already?"

((Thanks. I edited )) *María giggled.* "I was just joking! How do you think you made me feel when I had to undress in front of you the first night you arrived?" *She looked teasingly up at him.*

"Ho. You'll not be having me in that one." *Will said earnestly.*
"You asked. I was only helping you understand. You could have said no at anytime."
*He lifted his chin, knowing he was justified there.*
"Besides. It wasn't as if you didn't get fair trade."

*María giggled again.*
"Well, I have to give you right on that one. I didn't do anything to stop it from happening."
*She looked him over with an appreciative glimpse in her eyes.*
"And I really did get fair trade."

*Will wasn't sure how to respond.*
"So...the matter is settled then."
*He glanced at the door, still open.*

*María noticed his glance at the door and remembered how late it was. She blushed deeply and looked up at him.*
"Well, if you don't need anything...."
*She looked at the door as well, then shyly up at him.*
"Perhaps you want me to leave?"

"I think it might be best." *Will nodded gently.*
"Before topics turn into wine-inspired acts."

*María smiled and walked over to the door. She turned around and smiled gently to him.*
"Well, goodnight Will. I hope you will sleep well here."
*She slipped quietly out of the room and closed the door after her.*

*Will sighed, falling back on the bed. That girl was something all right. He rubbed his temples. Inhaling deeply, he rolled over and pulled his doublet off. Then tugged his shirt over his head. Pressing his face to the clean linens, he realized how tired he was and fell asleep half-dressed.*

****NEXT MORNING***********
*María had slept very little that night. She had been awake most of the night, staring dreamingly up at the moon and the stars. To stop herself from daydreaming, she started her work early. When she had finished her duties, it was time for normal people to wake up. With a smile on her face, she went to Will's room and knocked gently on the door.*

"Yes?" *Will called, groggy, but fairing better than the previous morning.*

*María smiled when she heard his voice. She asked from the outside of the door, without entering.*
"It's me, María. Do you want to join me for breakfast?"

*Will squinted at the light, wondering what time it was.*
"Very well. Give me a few minutes to make ready."

*María smiled.*
"Of course. Take all the time you need. I'll wait for you."
*She sat down in a chair in the sunny corridor, reading a book. She didn't even notice that one of the more anonymous ghosts of the castle came through a wall near by and slipped down the hall. She was reading some of the sonnets that Will had written, and there was a happy smile on her face.
Today she had put her hair up in a braid, since she had been working, And she was dressed in a red dress that looked really good on her.*
