((I get some inspiration myself )) *María looked up at him.* "A sudden interest in your writings? Will, I've been in love with your work since I was 12!" *She blurted out without thinking. Then she realized what she had just said, and a deep blushing colored her cheekbones. She lowered her head, not daring to look up at him.*

((I meant in regard to your previous post. "inspiration to this one" should be "inspiration for this one"))
*Will noticed her severe embarrassment with a befuddled look.*
"So...enjoying my work is...something to be ashamed of?" *He asked, confused.*

((Oh, that. XD Thanks. I'll edit it when I have replied on this one )) *María looked up at him and shook her head.* "No, it's not that. But my family taught me that a girl should never admit to having feelings. And I just blurted out with me being in love with your work since I was 12. If my mother had heard me admit to being in love with anything or anyone, she would have whipped me. She could be so strict." *She looked up at Will again.* "Are all parents as strict as mine with their children? Or is it just my parents being sadists?"

*Will's brow lowered.*
"Anne and I would never...well, expression was always important in our household."

*María looked up at him.*
"So it is normal to express feelings? It is not forbidden, like my mother claims?"

*Will lifted his hands defensively.*
"Ho, now...I'm not trying to undermine anything... Where we come from..." *He gestured between them.* "...it's not the same. With who you are and all, certain things are...expected, I suppose."

*María looked up at him, a bit confused.*
"I'm sorry, Will, but I don't understand. What do you mean with: It's not the same? And what do you think is expected?"

"Well..." *Will started slowly, hoping he could make her understand.*
"You're...a lady. You're supposed to be..." *He searched for the word.* "...repressed."
"And you're a..." *He pursed his lips for a moment.* "...Catholic."

*María nodded. She understood some of it.*
"Well, I understand the repress part. I am intelligent, but because I am a woman I am denied a higher education. Universities are obviously only for men. I got a kind of education anyway, however, thanks to my father. Since I was his only heir, he taught me how to run the castle and the villlages. I am not as strict with the workers as my father was, though."
*She looked over at him again.*
"But I don't understand what being Catholic have to do with anything. For me, it is a lifestyle. I pray to the Madonna, yes. But I am also a human. I have human faults, like everyone else."

"Well certainly..." *Will conceded.* "I just mean...well, the Catholic faith. It's...rather strict in general. It makes sense that you would be raised that way."

*María looked up at him.*
"What's the difference between my faith and yours? And how were you raised?"

*Will scrunched his face, wondering how the conversation had degraded to religion.*
"Are you asking about my parents or the faith in which I was raised?" *He wasn't sure what she meant.*

*María smiled.*
"Your parents of course. We are trying to learn how different classes live, aren't we? Raising children is certainly a part of that. Isn't it?"

*The answer hadn't seemed so obvious to him.*
"I was merely asking because both of those are pretty in depth conversations. My father was a glover, but..." *Will tried to figure a way to put it.*
"Even the nobles of England weren't Catholic. It's...against the law." *He stated plainly.*

*María looked up at Will and smiled.*
"I agree they are both in depth conversation. But when alcohol is served I have a rule about steering away from talk about religion. It tends to make quarrels if someone have been drinking more than they should. I never break this rule. Not even for you, my friend.
Thus I wanted to discuss the difference in lifestyles. It fascinates me. How can you think that I am so much different than you are?"
