"Ain't got anyone to tell," he grunted - that much was true; other than Jirahasuke, there was no one he'd tell about this, not that he really would. Jira, being the logic man that he was, might have even glossed it over as Bryan taking too much stock in rumors.
"Castro? Pfft, I don' want nothin' to do with that overblown windbag and his stuffy set of pipes," he growled as soon as Addams brought it up. Castro would be a sore spot until Jirahasuke stopped mooning over the tenor. "If it's somethin' to kick Castro outta the sky, go ahead, I'll pretend I ain't ever even seen you, if that's the least I can do."

"Yes, quite," Erik said, suppressing his ill-tempered humor at Castro's expense. "The man does have quite a few enemies," he mused. "But it won't do to speculate too much about anything you've seen here. I am being most lenient with you."

Bryan frowned a bit, then nodded to the disembodied voice, deciding it best to just take his leave and forget about the whole thing.
"Ain't seen a thing," conceded Bryan, turning to move off and out of the basement. There was nothing else he needed to say, or promise, and getting the hell out was a good idea.

Maleo watched the man shrink out of sight, giving him a good headstart before he would speak to his tutor. Perhaps Angel was being lenient, and he had promised to keep an eye on the workman, but something about him still did not sit well.
"Do you think he will keep his mouth shut?"

"He is a fool," Erik said shortly. "Which means he will either keep his mouth such on general principle, or open it and be ridiculed. Either way, I do not fear him; he can be dispatched, easily enough, if he should cause trouble. With any luck, he will get into trouble himself and the matter will be taken out of my hands."

"If you feel confident about his silence, then so shall I. I do not think there will be any issue from him in the long run... but this gives me mind to watch my back when coming down here. Next time - it could be Castro following!" he said with a shake of his head, stepping toward the hallway Fury had disappeared into. "Anyway, if all is well, then two days time and we will meet again?"

((Goodness, that would be a thing.))
"Let us hope not," Erik said acerbically. The last thing he needed was that great booby wandering about and poking his pug nose into Erik's affairs. "Two days' time," Erik agreed. "Do not forget our agreement."
The shadows swirled for a moment, and Erik was gone.

I need to learn that trick, thought Maleo gleefully, heading off to his own business, following the path he had learned coming down here. He did not bump into the workman anywhere along the way, glad that he had either gotten out or fallen into a pit somewhere along the way. As long as it would render his silence, Maleo did not care either way.
((Hey, the Persian found his way down there... X3))
