“Yes…I just slipped.”
That statement was true enough. Meg’s last sentence had startled her. Iris mentally scolded herself. You must keep your head on your shoulders. Jumping into the air at the mere mention of a word is childish.
“Obviously my balance has decided to turn against me.”

"He was a bit off-putting at first, the way he was staring at me. The other girls bet me I wouldn't dance with him, but I did, and by then I felt so sorry for the unhappy man that I turned down the money."

"Dancing together is always nice. Did he enjoy it?"

"I couldn't tell. He seems to be a very serious sort. He looked a bit like he was frowning the whole time, like this." said Meg, knitting her brows in an attempt at impersonating Tybalt.
