*She slowly shook her head*
"I wouldn't even know how...I don't know the history of this place..."

*Haldir looked sad too.*
"The forest can only heal when peace return to the country, with a new and just ruler, pure of heart, that can rule this country fairly. Steerpike rules this country better than I expected of him, but allows the commons to perform savage attack to memebers of the aristocracy. No wise ruler would ever allow people in his country to fight each other. In times like this, the people should stand together, defending the country from the dangers abroad."
*He smiled.*
"Because of allowing these acts of hatred, Steerpike and Eleanor has now lost every support they had in the aristocracy. Supporting attacks against the most powerful persons of the country is political suicide. Steerpike is finished here. Even Eleanor can't save him now. And the most idiotic thing they tried to do, was to expel Leetah in my absence. When the commons learned that they would loose their only healer, also they turned against Steerpike and Eleanor."

"Haldir," she said gently. "I know of the aristocracy, that much I can at least claim to. They brought their own downfall on themselves. It was only a matter of time before a ruler realized what their so-called 'nobles' were really about."
*She turned quiet*
"But the only way to get the elves back to as they were, you would first need to unit them together."
*She glanced back at him*
"And from what I hear, you are having problems with something called dark elves, as well."

*Haldir smiled.*
"I agree about the downfall of the aristocracy, Anastasia, that they brought their own downfall on themselves. It is definitely 5 year old countess Rainfall's own fault that the farmers beheaded her last week, after having raped her in front of her parents. She was after all, a 'noble'."
*There was suppressed anger in his voice.*
"Have you any idea how hard it is to stop my troops from NOT going to war against the farmers after things like that?"

*Anastasia rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on*
"You know very well I meant the aristocrats that did nothing for the commoners, that stepped on them, looked down on them, and kicked them around in the dirt simply because of money differences. Did the little farm girl deserve to be beaten to a pulp just because Lord Ash thought it'd be funny?" She retorted.
"Abuse begets abuse. You have to draw the line somewhere."

*Haldir sighed deeply.*
"This is why I was sceptic to let the humans bring in the money system here in the first place. Listen Anastasia. I am 6000 years old. I have lived my first 5000 years perfectly well without money. There were no differences between the elves in those days. We shared what we had, and were happy. The problem started when the "ever-wise" humans thought it would be "helpful" to bring money into Lorien. If I have a choice, the first thing I will do, is to stop the money system and bring the old system back. One service in exchange for another. That would FORCE my people to co-operate with each other. And when they get to know each other, I am certain things will go smoother."

*She paused, her look one of surprise*
"Wait...you're telling me this is...over the economy?"
*She couldn't hide the incredulous tone in her voice*
"I have heard many reasons for war, but this one...I...it's insane."

*Haldir just looked at her in disbelief.*
"You really don't get it, do you? You come into our kingdom without knowing anything about our culture or our history, then starts critizising us, saying the aristocracy here is to be blamed for their downfall. I will tell you this only once, sweetie pie. Before the humans started bringing money to Lorien: ALL ELVES WERE EQUAL! We didn't even have a hierarchy. That came with the humans that used to visit here."
He sighed.
"I suggest your next trip will be to the library to recheck your science. And be careful listening to the gossip by the court. You can't believe half of it. And I'm not saying which half."

*Her jaw dropped* "What? How...how dare you!" *She jumped to her feet* "I simply asked you a question! How can you be so damn condenscending to me when all I am trying to do is understand?! You can't possibly expect somebody to understand when you're constantly changing the tone of what you're talking about, shift the drift of what a conflict is supposed to be, and then yet again leave it off with vague statements! You can't expect people to learn an entire nation's history in a matter of moments! By god, it takes years for even deep scholars who've lived in Russia their whole lives to completely understand Russia's history! Fine, talk down to me. Elves seem to think that all humans are just stupid apes, right? Well, this stupid ape isn't going to take it. Keep changing your history. I'll be somewhere that actually makes sense." *Spinnning on her heel, she stomped out of the room *

*Some of the elf girls giggled with glee when Anastasia stomped out of the room. Haldir sighed, but didn't go after her. It was her decision to leave, and he knew that no matter how hard he tried, he could not make her understand. How could he tell her that the class system had only been in Lorien as long as the first humans had been here? Or that the elves had been a united people before they were forced by their surrounding to change?
He had forgotten she was only a young girl, trying to understand a world she was too human to understand. Prejudicm, either it came from humans or elves, had to be tossed aside to fill the deep gap between humans and elves in this tragedy. Or to understand the difference between the two worlds. And the 6000 year old battle-hardened warlord had no idea where to start or how to go on about it. He had to take every thing by it's smooth handle and carry on with his duties.
The entertainment was almost over. Now the Council of High Elves were entering the stage, looking secretive about something. The room was silent as the High Elves started speaking. Haldir listened half-heartedly to the speech. He rubbed his temples, trying to fight back a headache.
