"Well, no, I don't gossip...but you want someone that knows their stuff."

*Haldir smiled and looked at her.*
"I also want someone who respect that the population in New Atlantis want to live in peace, without too much pressure from the outside. It is their pride that they have managed to keep their town exactly as it was in the year 500."

"I know that. But if they want to learn of the outside world, they need to talk to someone that actually knows what's going on out there."

*Haldir smiled, and sighed, wondering slightly if he would ever be capable of understanding a woman. He had spoken to her about this, because he had felt that she, off all persons, would understand. Now he wasn't so sure anymore. He rubbed his temples, tired.*
"Fine. Let's not talk about it anymore. I'll deal with it later. Just forget all about it."

*She quirked a brow at his tone. She was being reasonable*
"I'm not being difficult, it's the truth. But I'll stop as you requested."

*Haldir smiled gently.*
"I am not trying to be difficult either. But I have a lot to take in consideration, because of safety reasons. I am the one responsible for the wellbeing of these people. I can't bring in just anybody."
*His eyes softened.*
"You know that."

"I know. I actually don't know that many people, to be honest. But I'm sure you've come into contact with more humans that only me."

*Haldir patted her hand in a friendly manner.*
"Don't worry about it. I'll find someone."
*The music had stopped, and there were some Elven actors starting to play a comedy. It all went on rhyme, and in Elvish. Haldir smiled grimly when he heard it. He mumbled to Anastasia, with a twinkle in his eyes.*
"I told you there would be clowns here..."

"Ha! Yes, you were definitely right."
*While she wasn't fluent in the elven language, she'd spent enough time around elves to get the general gist of what was being said, and was able to enjoy the jokes and laugh along with everyone else. Being a quick study in languages had it's advantages*

*Haldir smiled with pride when he heard her laughing at the jokes like anyone else. He had noticed the scowls the other elven ladies had sent Anastasia, and he was determined to stop any attempt to put her to shame because she was human.*
"Do you enjoy yourself?"

"Absolutely. This reminds of the days in the Russian court...great feasts, lots of people, music, entertainment, laughter..."
*She beamed at him*
"This truly is home."

*Haldir's smile widened. He loved to see her happy, like now. He hoped he would get many opportunities to bring her joy also in the future.*
"We often have feasts like this in here. I do not always attend to them, because of my work. But I admit they are fun."
*He looked warmly at her.*
"I am glad you feel at home here."

*She hesitated for a moment, then swiftly kissed his cheek*
"I think it safe to say, I am here to stay."

*Haldir closed his eyes for a moment and inhaled deeply when she kissed his cheek. It was the first time she had kissed him of her own free will. It was a very happy smile on his face when he opened his eyes again to look at her.*
"I am glad to hear that. I will do my best to keep Lorien as safe as possible. I don't want you to leave again."

*She let her gaze wander the room, taking it all in*
"I don't think I could leave, even if it got as bad as Russia."
