Magda stopped to catch her breath, if only so that she could turn back and shout back to Aziraphale.
"Urry!"

"I'm going as fast as I can," *he shouted, hurrying as best as he could, under the weight of the unconscious vampire he was struggling to carry. If it weren't for his angelic strength, he wouldn't have been able to manage at all- Herbert was at least six inches taller than him, after all.*

The edges of the sky were turning from black to purple, and she shuddered.
"All right. Shust a block more."

"All right," *Aziraphale huffed, adjusting Herbert over his shoulder.*

As she rounded the corner, she realized that a bomb (which side? Who cares?) had destroyed the facade, leaving only a small entrance available.
Magda analyzed the situation for a moment and then nodded.
"I'll take him up to se balcony. You go in sat vay."

((My mouse has stopped working, so I'm gonna restart. Sorry, ya'll!))
*Aziraphale took in the damage with a frown. The is wasn't safe... but it would have to do until nightfall. He nodded and handed off the vampire.*
"I'll see you inside then. Thank you..."
*He squeezed through the entrance and started up to the apartment.*

Magda gasped a little under Herbert's weight- he was at least eight inches taller than she was- and arranged her cape so that his blood would only leak onto that instead of her dress.
"See hyou in a minute!"
She carried Herbert to the side of the building, slung him over her shoulder, and started climbing the balconies up to Crowley's flat.

*Aziraphale reached Crowley's door before Magda and hesitated a moment before knocking. This was stupid- there must be somewhere else he could have gone. Ah well. It was too late now. He knocked.*

The power was out. Not that this would normally matter to Crowley, but at the moment most of his energies were focused on forgetting that there was a battle going on outside. He'd never liked wars. Not the one in Heaven, not the sort with spears and swords, and especially not the sort with guns.
He closed his book when he heard a knock on the door. Sighing, he got up and walked over to it. When he opened the door and saw who it was, he simply stood there a moment in shocked silence.
"Aziraphale?"

*Aziraphale knew he looked absolutely frightful- his shirt was covered with Herbert's blood, and the grime from the barricades didn't help matters. Compared to Herbert, of course, he was a picture of cleanliness...*
"Crowley, I- I need to ask you a favor. It's very important-"

"What is it?" he asked, still not quite processing what was going on.

*He cringed a little, knowing Crowley wasn't going to like hearing this. But what choice did he have?*
"There's been an- Herbert was fighting on the barricades. He's been hurt very badly a- and it's almost dawn. Please, I didn't have anywhere else to take him-"

His expression darkened. "You mean to tell me that you came over here to ask me to help him?"

*A hopeless expression came over Aziraphale's face.*
"Crowley, please. I had no other choice."

"Didn't you? I'm sure there are plenty of other places that would've been willing to help you. More willing than me, at any rate."
